I am a bit mad that druids can shape shift to travel form. This alone would be fine but I guess it's really hard to drink in the maw. Sandstone drake (vial of the sands mount)
Worgen racial trait, Running Wild, works in the maw and I've been using that for a few toons.
Garbage timesink zoneI'll gladly give up my gem sockets
I'm spending some quality time with my Cunning hunter pet, it's nowhere near mount speed, but it doesn't feel like I'm going molasses speed
I honestly think the game designers have some overarching need to make us spend lots of time traveling to places. I looked up the reason why the Flight Master Whistle doesn't work in SL and Ion's answer was that they are not making us fly back and forth between zones all the time. Meanwhile, I am constantly taking flight paths from Sinfall to the other zones, via Oribos, to do callings every day. Look, it's fine, at least it doesn't take 8 minutes like flying from Dalaran to the Nexus, but I was really hoping that they would expand the FMW, not get rid of it. No other MMO that I have played (ESO, FFXIV, SWTOR) makes you spend so much time traveling. On the other hand, gives me time for lots of bio breaks.
Darkmoon Cannon + Goblin Glider is arguably one of the best combos available for anyone and is pretty easy to get. It just required Darkmoon Faire (which is currently up).
Tip1: Be a WorgenTip 2: Be a Demon Hunter
The best way to have fun in the maw is doing the weekly and never going back anymore. At least until they fix the group phasing crap
I just stealth everywhere as a feral druid.
Or just roll a druid or even shaman. Hell, most classes have some kind of low-CD or resource intensive mobility built in. However, tough luck if you don't. Paladins and DKs come to mind, because well that's what I'm playing... naturally.
Darkmoon Cannon, borr-geth's fiery brimstone and most importantly the Falling Flame from timeless isle (super rare drop though) are great for travelling in the maw.
Instead of using the Gnomish Gravity well, you can use the Borr-Geth's Fiery Brimstone which drops from Borr-Geth. It also launches you in the air.
I like long stealth walks in the Maw.
Pick up the darkmoon faire cannon. It's earned by getting the gold achievement in The Big Race using the power monger and it gives you considerable height for gliders and parachute.
