The Weekly Reset by Taliesin and Evitel - Night Elf Customization, De Other Side, Night Warrior Dialogue
Some of the criticism is homophobia. Some of the criticism (aside from "it's not enough") is not homophobia.
That should be the easiest thing in the world to understand.
Im sorry, but if you have a problem with gay characters existing in this universe you are being homophobic. There's no nuance in this. Anyone who isnt okay with gay characters existing is a bigot.

It's about equal representation for real, actual people, not equal representation for opinions about whether or not those people are valid.

Anything else is homophobia.

you're either willingly being disingenuous or actually are just that dense. if you dont' believe their is nuanced to this situation or really any situation involving gay video game characters you're actually just a pot stirrer. there is an argument to be made game shouldn't be retconned or break their lore to be inclusive. very few people are saying gays just shouldn't exist in wow, they have issue with them changing the character granted we knew nothing about them but we knew it was a woman. then months later just changing it to get their pride monthly brownie points.if you say dang to lore and characters and story etc then good for you but a lot of people care a lot more about the story than they do about inclusion. so you know the best middle ground? actually write an interesting story around a gay character. don't change old facts to a ham fisted form of representation. sure you'd actually have homophobes complain about it but that would statify like 90% of the complaints
