That was super good movie, silly people only after many years realize how good things were back then. Those exact guys should make the sequel!
I dont get why people like to hate on this so much,it was the only movie i was actually hyped enough for to go to the cinema. Did it respect the story completly ? No,only around half of it, but its probably the best adaption of a game into a movie until now and probably will be for a long time,it's kinda sad they didn't continue the story since they had a golden path laid out right in front of them with the books
Wsrcraft's lol idk but it got me
And still no continuation whatsoever. There is so much to tell about the story I think it would work out better as the series. But you know, one can only hope.
It was objectively a bad movie but as a WoW player I enjoyed it more than other people so I would advise them to give it another try but maybe with a smaller budget and more focused story for the game players
I liked it. Would have loved to see more of the Blizzard universe on the big screen. Or series. Whatever fits, I don't care, just wish we had more of it.
In an alternate reality somewhere, the Warcraft movie was actually good and launched a cinematic universe. And in that reality they will probably be getting a big screen adaptation of the Lich King by now. :(

I loved the movie. Took my gf to it, she had basic wow knowledge but enough to understand who was who.Only thing i disliked is that they decided to go a different route with the lore, basically making a new world..Would be cool if they followed lore and had a couple more movies, still hoping for a lich king movie, or a cinematic series tbh.
I want them to make a Diablo Immortal movie, but I'd be afraid they'd make us pay every couple of minutes.
Seems like a lot longer ago, for some reason.
Its mistake was to tell the 'big' story - the larger-than-life heroes. As a general rule, the fantasy franchises that stick and flourish are smart enough to tell the stories of little people caught up in the events of big worlds. Lord of the Rings is the classic example, Narnia does it too, even Harry Potter. Weak and powerless characters trying to make it through dangerous and exciting times. That way we can project ourselves into their place as they survive, grow, and begin to have an effect on the world. I mean, isn't that what our mains in WoW do? The ones we level up from the start? At first they do quests to gather mushrooms and rabbit pelts, while occasionally catching a glimpse of the faction leaders. Eventually they fight gods, but it's the journey that keeps us coming back. If the Warcraft movie had been about a young human and a young orc befriending each other despite the chaos of the portal opening, it would have had a fighting chance to succeed. We could still have the lore and the battles and big-name heroes, but it would have been more relatable for the average viewer. Also - it needed more humour. Everyone in that movie was so busy being Serious People Doing Serious Things that at times it felt like a historical documentary on a college course with an exam at the end.I reckon it failed because it tried too hard to respect the lore. It needed a scriptwriter and director with the brief "here's an exciting world ready-created for you to play in, now go set a fun adventure of your own in it".
wish they would do a Netflix series or do a arthas two or 3 part movie but i really liked the first movie they did i thought it was amazing when it came out buy im a shill for wow so.
This movie heavily lacked more length.Everything happened too fast. Not everything made sense, and no sense of the world (in World of Warcraft). What should have happened:3 movies, with no fixed length.1. The legend of Arthas begins, you follow his training as a paladin up until the entrance of Stratholme.2. Starting in Stratholme, you follow his hunt for Mal'Ganis, and the movie ends in Dragonblight at the sword.3. (Part 1) You see his change into the Lich King and how he builds his throne, where the movie ends with him sitting on it.3. (Part 2) Infiltrating Icecrown, and the end of Arthas. The movie ends with a lot of open threads, setting up tv shows for the next part of this franchise, following various main charasters and story lines.Who doesent want to see that?Imagine the success of this, and how many stories we can get from Warcraft universe.
I guess we will never see part 2... And that makes me sad.
I personally loved the film and I'm really upset I never got the transmog items for the movie event when it came out
It was really solid for what it was. Thoroughly enjoyed it and have seen it several times now.
