The War Within Mythic+ Now Caps at Lower Hero Track Loot

With the War Within Beta update coming later this week, we’d like to share the update notes ahead of time for feedback:

Hero track loot from Mythic+ now drops at a maximum of 1/6 (was 2/6).
Myth track has been extended to 6 steps (was 4).

Playing since TBC: I have pushed to Glad in pvp (last time in SL s2), CE raided multiple times (last time in SL s3), and pushed multiple m+ 0,1% titles (last time in DF s3).

I AM the 0.1% they are supposedly designing this game for, and they sure are designing it worse.

Many of us simply don't have the time to do everything at the same time with families, work etc, your dedicated playerbase isn't peter pan living in neverland stuck at 15 forever living off our parents.

I want to be able to play the game the way i want to without feeling like i have to do content X to do content Y, i only have so much time and i find M+ to be the most fun content currently so i focus only on M+ nowadays and DF has been pretty good in that regard but with a lot of room for improvement, this is a BIG step backwards.

They should do what they did in SL s2 for PvP for all the gear in wow.
Make the content you do reward gear for the content you do, without it being completely worthless in the world or other places.

In Example:
All of the gear in wow (lets use the highest gear for the example, so Elite/Mythic/M+12 or higher) would be at 600 ilvl outside in the world but it would go up by 10 ilvls in the content it was earned in, so a elite pvp piece would be 610 in arenas/RBGs but in raid and m+ it would be 600 ilvl, a raid mythic piece would be 610 inside raids but in m+ and in pvp it woud be 600, and a m+ (highest track) piece would be 610 inside a keystone but in raids and pvp 600 ilvl. The highest crafted gear could be 605 everywhere.
(All the exact numbers and ilvls do not matter, just the general idea matters)

This way people could actually play a MMO-RPG without getting the feeling of being shoehorned into content they do not enjoy, they could play what they want and be rewarded by making them better in what they want to do, let Raiders raid, PvPers PvP and M+ers M+, or those who want to do all could do all if they have that much free time.Comment by SpindaaGlad to see people finally jumping on board on my idea of applying the instance based ilvl boost from PvP to M+ and Raid as well. Why see it still as "the same content"? Yeah both are PvE but they play completly different. Give the gear an ilvl boost in the content it drops (like in PvP) and we don't have that discussion anymore. There are for sure other solutions but I don't get the mindset behind these changes.

There is allready to much grinding for crest, and with TWW making these changes it will take us ages to upgrade our gear if we dont mythic raid.

Gonna be more or less forced to save all crests for several weeks, just incase the vault drops an uprade for a slot that you might have used crests on. Splitting the playerbase is never a solution. A lot of players cross play all different forms of content. You can look at how bad PvP became after legion and how they moved ~80% of their PvP developers elsewhere. You can just do M+ and still gear up every week slowly or you can do Raid and gear up every week slowly, or you can do both and gear faster.Comment by bearmaxI play for portals and mounts. I am a casual player as I have a full time job that keeps me busy at random times so no raiding for me for now unless it’s from lfg pug. Here is no way I will be able to keep up gearing like I have in the past with this change. Way too many rng vault hopes and crests needed to upgrade. I won’t have the time. Is this the sign you don’t want people logging out of your game or it’s time for them to quit all together?

DF dungeon gear progression was a win. This is a huge step back and seems like another team is trying to run the game into the ground yet again. Us old folks who have been around 20 years are kinda tired of this. Either respect our gaming time and the way we want to play or be more obvious you don’t care.

How are the players supposed to provide feedback if we don't know why you believe this change is neccesary or what the intention of the change is? On its face the change is bad. It forces players to engage with content they may not enjoy to play content they wish to play at a competitive level in. A mythic boss takes less than 10 minutes - a dungeon can be 40 minutes. Good job, Blizzard!Comment by Gellfling7-10 all dropping the same gear is crazy. There's going to be such a bloat of players farming 7s, while 8s, 9s, and arguably 10s are going to be barren. The way it works now, if there's 2 dungeons that drop the same end of run gear, you farm the lower one for end of dungeon drops, or the higher one for vault drops. That makes sense. That is good design. Having 4 keys drop the same end of dungeon gear is just insane.

Right now, if 506 is an upgrade for you, then you run 7s. If 7s are too easy but you don't want to go too much higher, 8s drop the same end of dungeon gear but the next track as well as the next step in the vault drops here. This makes so much sense.

The reason I say 10's are arguably going to be barren as well is because they are the only way to get myth gear, but once you run your 8 for the week, you're done. They give portals, but once you do it once, you're done. These are going to be done quick by any individual. It could take way, way more than 8 runs a week to get that one piece of gear you need from a 7, and that's just one piece. There's 5-8 more other pieces that might be worth farming for. Everyone's going to be stacked on 7s because there's basically no reason to run 8s and 9s now.Comment by FraughtNice... Season 4 I was done in week 3.

TWW will flop in a month after release following all those garbage anti player decisions.I think everyone is taking this as personal as they are because Mythic raids are still designed for the top 1% and they are a huge #$%^ing waste of time compared to M+.

No one actually enjoys staring at the same boss night after night just because one person just can't perform like the 19 others. The fights are already ~10 minute encounters and after fighting that boss and wiping, you have to run back to the boss, rebuff, eat, etc., which just gives everyone a reason to step away for a second and that never stops adding up. Raiding made everyone that I personally know that gave a @#$% about the game step away, because it doesn't even remotely respect your time. M+ is straight forward and respects your time for the most part, and is the only content that brought them back. This change makes people feel as though their time is not respected.

Whatever it is you enjoy, raiding, M+. PVP whatever. Yet you all want to be done gearing in 2 weeks time. The season is probably 4-5 months long. You gradually gear up and it makes sure you aren't feeling 'done' in 2 weeks. Like my friend now said - so you either do 7+ or 10+ and nothing in between xD (7+ for hero track initially, then 10+ for vault slots)

Then please at least do first three bosses in mythic raid "flex ID" so we can actually PUG it without issues of getting into a pepega group and not being able to kill more than 1 boss per lockout lmaooo

I hate it - i might semi-retire from WoW - pugging 10s every single week with double forti/tyra affixes? heh, funny.

And if you dont - no myth track for u... which scales WAY higher than now and not having it will be an issue?
