if they can do a global release of expansions at the same time then they can most definitely do the same for raids
does global launch involve offices around the world being at work?I can't imagine any day to day blizzard staff wanting to rock up to work at 4am in the morning (or whatever the timezone conversion is) every time a new content patch goes live
I am sorry but changing the game around for 5-6 guilds who are actually competing is ridiculous. To make this work the raid would have to release at the latest weekly reset, which would be one of the asian servers(otherwise they have to completely change how resets work to prevent Method from just reclearing the first few bosses again after a day of progress). This would screw over the numerous guilds that raid on reset day which is the norm. And in the end this does not change that the guild who has earlier resets still gets extra time to benefit from the extra loot from the reset before everyone else(sure it didn't matter BoD but it did matter Uldir where Limit screwed themselves out of the reclear to get more tries while a day later Method got it with their extra loot)There is no physical way to make it fair without completely changing when the weekly resets happen(which would mess up numerous guilds and allow game breaking bugs to hit every server at once) which is not feasible even considering how stupid maintenance times would be in most regions.
Blizzard themselves do not care , if they did they would support WF raiding, Majority of the playerbase by miles do not care. Because a very low % of the playerbase cares we should change it, you a special snowflake or something? We got 50 players with bench competing lets make this drastic change for them. Instead of you know focusing on things that matter. Its stupid.
how about EU vs China? I heard China starts a day after EU, and if you look at the BoD leaderboard its EU NA China for top 3 guilds. Wonder if it would be different if China started before both? Maybe not since it was 2 days after, but still something to think about I don't think there is anything advantageous about starting 2 days later for China. All regions starting same time for a raid would be very interesting, I wonder if something like this can be done for the next expansion. Like current raid resets thursday for the first 2-3 weeks but everything else remains unchanged, or has raids resetting different than a weekly start? Obviously they are staggered for reasons such as maintenance and NA is the beta testers kinda thing, but if this is really such a big deal to these .1% players perhaps a change would be great? EU can experience all those bugged fights from day 1 just like NA does. Only a matter of time before China guilds clear the raids same time as EU and NA, if they are not already there.
it seems someone is worried they might not get world first.
Honestly even if everyone starts together the majority of guilds are still in a disadvantage simply because guilds like Method have sponsors and that's their job basically while a lot of guilds(some might even be better than Method) have 2-3 hours per night 2-3 nights a week to raid. Unless they take into account the /played amount in the raid that took to kill the bosses it's irrelevant this type of race.
what to declare as soonest/fastest? does it count as you step into the raid? so each hour played/stayed as 20 player in that raid? each hour the server is live/playable on since raid release? i really dont know if i like it if they change it. Its good as it is noone cares about a 2 Boss Raid with just some fun items. Not even for every specc a lootable item.
They changed the expansion release this time around so that everyone had access to it at the same time because the NA were complaining that other areas could play it first. Only fair that they do the same to the raid access.
no one has think to move reset day to Wednesday for US or tuesday for EU , which will make 6 hours differences rather than 18 ... (but EU will be release first so it unacceptable i think ..)
I thought most of the American mythic end game guilds didn't stream the race.
Until Blizzard supports a world first race who cares if there is a raid release time gap?
I have to agree with Cayna, mythic releases same day for both US and EU, a real race.
I agree World First and World Fastest should be separate. And when there are faction-asymmetrical raids like BoD, those prizes should be split again, to get Alliance World First, Alliance World Fastest, Horde World First, Horde World Fastest.
