well, this is mediocre compared to the last brawl
Creating a deck on mobile seems bugged too, basically doesn't let you.
At face value, a very aggressive deck, or a token deck would utilize the free bananas the most. Paladin's hero power especially is going to effectively create pseudo-Clockwork Gnomes; half the attack but more powerful spare parts.Having said that, zoolock seems like an early contender for being a dominating deck. Not only does it put out plenty of aggressive, cheap minions, but it also has a fair amount of tokens in Imp Gang Commander and Implosion. Furthermore, its card draw means that, like in non-brawl mode, you aren't going to run out of gas.
Came home from work, expecting another fun Brawl to take my mind off stuff, instead I see this.
Ugh, just had an opponent play mill rogue against me. The deck was about as successful in tavern brawl as it is on ladder (that is, bad), but it was as obnoxious as all hell to play against.Edit: played 3 games to get 3 wins, but probably won't play again - it's pretty much just constructed with a slightly skewed meta. Played first two as zoolock, but I don't think I ever actually tapped - first opponent was mill rogue and was as such giving me cards, and second opponent was some sort of mech druid, and I was never wanting for board presence simply due to my draws (in particular, Dragon Egg proved stellar for providing decent board presence out of 1 card).Third game I decided to switch things up and play Flamewaker mage, given how many 'spare parts' the brawl can potentially give. Got a pretty good start - turn one Clockwork Gnome, turn 2 Sorceror's Apprentice, then turn 3 Flamewaker, Mirror Image, Deviate Banana, Coolant, Coin, Leper Gnome to clear my opponent's board for free. Such a deck could be more interesting than the obvious zoo/aggro decks that this brawl would encourage, and I hope someone gets a good highlight with Antonidas giving them a buttload of Fireballs thanks to bananas. ^^
More minions = more bananas ... Murlock deck ftw ... opponent quit by about turn 5 on my first go.
This was a fun brawl, although I think Blizzard set my expectation pretty high with the Blackrock showdown. I agree it is very similar to ladder with a tweaked meta. I had good success with just a common Paladin deck. The hero ability helped me get lots of bananas. I will not be very likely to play this brawl any more, now that I got my pack. I don't know if it is worth my time to attempt to master a meta that won't happen again. I'm better off just playing ladder or area. That being said, I might play it more if the brawl had a ladder dynamic. Not that I need any more prizes for obtaining a level, but just for bragging rights among my friends. "I'm a level 15 King Mukla" might be enough for me to jump back in just to keep moving up the ranks for the next 4 days. Rookie tip of the day, watch your card count with all the bananas flying in, I had my opponent burn a Dr. Boom because their hand was too full.
Paladin minion deck w/ a side of eggs ftw.
Just had a murloc zoo player concede to my flamewaker deck. Guy was losing plenty of minions, but favored more bodies on the board over using the bananas in his hand. Meanwhile I just played on curve and dropped bananas on all the best minions. Here's a fun one: get a few bananas in your hand and then drop Emperor. You can power up Sludge-belcher for free next turn.
Flamewaker is definitely the way to go for me. I am 5 wins out of 6 at the moment. Good cards to go with are Spellbender and Counterspell (particularly spellbender), Flamewaker and Sorcerer's Apprentice, Mirror Image and Echoing Ooze :)I shoved in Onyxia and Antonidas too but I haven't drawn them yet. A lot of people concede before I get that late in the game :D
Made a very easy to play Mage Banana Brawl deck guide:
i know it would be really bad, but does anyone else want to see lorewalker cho played in this brawl? :)
I found the entire brawl this week so incredibly boring... I guess my expectations got a bit high based on the first one. I wish they'd offer some reason to continue doing this beyond the first win. Perhaps another pack at 5 or 10? Something...Edit: Oh, I wish they'd allow me to play from already created decks. I just ended up having to recreate one that I already use.
just dont mill yourself :>
I've enjoyed this week's brawl so far. Probably because of my 83% win rate! Tempo Mage is my deck of choice anyway so I always love that deck but I don't usually win quite as much as I've been doing here :D@Hyjinx I hadn't thought of Violet Teacher and Mountain Giant. They could be cool :)
Just played brawl Dragonkin Sorcerer was my all-star card.
The fact that there are already 'best decks' to use in something that's supposed to be casual is disappointing.I found that the games themselves are slower, so many banana casts felt like they slowed the play down. Having said that, had a great time.
Why my deck is not listed in brawl decks?
