Remember Garrosh asked Anduin, "How do you know light chose you."And Garrosh hinted Anduin's sinmilarity to Arthas, which Anduin was annoyed, though Garrosh quickly suggested that perhaps the orc himself was like Arthas.Fallen from grace is a common theme in WC, I wonder...
quite a interesting article.i truly hope that doesn't get redeemed as "savior of the universe" kinda of !@#$.the nelfs deserve to at least kill the direct responsable for the burning.unless of course that azshara is mind controlling sylvanas.
Love the article and the comments so far!
@BoreasDragon yeah agreed, that quoting was getting out of control XD
Another expansion, another Warchief killed?#doubtShe seem to be another Illidan.Initially hated and misunderstood for her harsh actions, later forms a "neutral" faction and ends up being the main neutral hero in the war against the Void.We shall see what is Blizz really planning.
> Oldgods has poured their influence in the wound of Azerite.> Corrupted the life blood of Azeroth> Azerite now have old god's influence > Everyone touching Azerite is getting corruptedTL;DROLD GODS DID THIS! AZSHARA DID THIS! (even though I am a horde player and mostly plays the horde. But I am really getting annoyed at the path blizzard has taken for Sylvanas and the horde. Obviously Night Elves gonna forgive Sylvanas when they'll learn she was under Azshara's influence. Obviously, right?)
Destroy all your theories with the following: Arthas (and then lich king) had the power to raise the dead and control them at will thanks to his sword and then to the crown ... Only the LK can subdue and control the plague or undead due to his great power. At this moment the LK is in a kind of "hibernation".Sylvanas does NOT have the power to control the dead, all the forsaken follow her of their own volition. The only way that Sylvanas manages to control all the dead is to get the LK crown or some power powerful enough to have them all subject to their will. Otherwise rebellions would arise.Keep insisting that Sylvanas is a Garrosh 2.0 or Arthas 2.0 is already looking too far away from the events. I do not know why this new process of wanting to find an explanation for everything, even if it starts to be too delirious.I would wait for patch 8.2 or 8.3 to start making a good speculation.
What a great piece! The parallels between the cinematics blew my mind :O Thanks for that!
If we follow the parallels then I wonder if Anduin will kill Sylvanas, but in turn will become evil as Arthas did. Hmmm...
King Terenas:My son. The day you were born, the very forests of Lordaeron whispered the name, Arthas. My child. I watched you with pride, as you grew into a weapon. Of rightousness. Remember, our line has always ruled with wisdom, and strength. And I know that you will show restraint, when exercising your great power. But the truest victory, my son, is stirring the hearts of your people. I tell you this, for when my days have come to and end. You, shall be king.Vol'jin: I have never trusted you. Nor would I have ever imagined... in our darkest time... dat you... would be da one to save us. Da spirits have granted me clarity. A vision... dey whisper a name. Many will not unda'stand. But you must step out of da shadows... and lead. You must be... War...chief...
I always thought Jaina under the control of void after the Theramore events. Void pierced her weakened defenses of mind.As an alliance player, I am waiting eagerly to see Slyvanas to became hero we need to the Azeroth. But if she becomes more evil and cruel in the process, she might lose sight...
We've known Sylvanas being a better person since the Strategies... well, as good as a bitter undead can be. I have a theory, so let's start with the last time we saw her "normal", end of Wrath. We slowly start seeing a Sylvanas who is rather mad in Cataclysm. Why? What changed? Well, what changed is clearly that she has the Val'kyrs now by her side. Her death after her fall from the throne caused her an obsession with survival and "living" due to the vision of torment that she saw, before being raised by the Val'kyrs for the first time. From this point and on, she goes downhill in Cata and we can see this by how she treats Koltira (lets hold this point for later). What do we know about the Lich King's control over the undead? Well, it's the "Helm of Domination", the crown that now Bolvar holds, which grant the lich king powers and the control over the undead. But how does the Lich King lose control of the undead? When they are weakened. The Lich King first lost control of the undead when the throne was weakened by Illidan and his eye of Sargeras, causing earthquakes to ruin his glacier. At this point the Lich King is losing control and beckons for Arthas to come and get merged and save him. Then he preserves some of the control, but the forsaken have already broken free, under Sylvanas leadership. At the revamped Tirisfall quests, when the timeline is supposed to be post-Arthas fall, with now Bolvar being the leader, we encounter a quest in Agamand Mills, where we kill specific target Undead that couldn't break the control from the Lich King, ending with finding a Lich King controlled "Forsaken" in Brill as well. Was this "forsaken" always loyal to the Lich King? Was he enslaved by Bolvar? Or he was never trully a free-willed Forsaken? And here starts my real speculation: What if Sylvanas is now under the control of Bolvar? She was freshly ressurected by Val'kyrs , who were loyal to the Lich King. What if they are trully loyal to Bolvar now? What if they "indoctrinate" Sylvanas with their presence around her? What if the visions of torment at her death at the Throne were induced by the same Val'kyrs that raised her in order to make her think of them as allies. Her whole behavior reminds me of someone Bipolar. Even her last minute choice of Burning Teldrassil instead of seizing it, makes me think, she has voices in her head, and what other voices than Bolvar's... He might have been a human hero, but he is more of a Lich King than a human and we saw this clearly on the DK campaign.Returning to Koltira: The Lich King was pissed off losing his Knights, one of them being Koltira, so, why not have Sylvanas chain him (which is a bit senseless) and then have his Knights seemingly free him from her? Well, that would earn the favor of the Knight for the current Lich King.I agree with all the "The best force against the Void is the undead" , but I think Sylvanas a pawn, she is the instrument of war of the true Mastermind, Bolvar, after the truth is revealed to him by the Throne's knowledge. Sylvanas never trully bothered with higher forces before.People love Sylvanas. Why would the Devs kill her? I expect her breaking free from Bolvar's influence and then fighting against him. Then she becomes our old beloved archer.
Perhaps this quote means that if Sylvanas dies one more time, she cannot be resurrected again and will fail in her mission of Undeath, which is a threat to the Void.Genn prevented her from taking the Val’kyr in stormheim prisoner which was clearly so she could rise again if killed. This to me means she is vulnerable and both she and genn know it.
