A Lot of hate in the comments, but I gotta admit I like the storyline so far.
not sure what you people expect of WoW by this point, 8 expansion packs, almost 20 years old, writers just simply run out of ideas or keep rehashing old plots. Sylvanas will now get a redemption arc because she was trying to save everyone from an even bigger threat will be the new plotline.
Too all the "Redemption!" posts... hear me out.Sylvanas is alive with her soul now. This is MUCH MUCH worse than death, or being her usual soulless self. She isn't going to be redeemed, not by everyone at least. She has to live with her actions and people wont understand her internal conflict of weather she could control herself or not. She didnt act like at all like Garrosh. Garrosh acted out of his own impulses and (as the meme goes) technically did nothing wrong. His redemption was met with a swift crack of lightning from Thrall because his impulses would never end. He would always continue to be the mad man he was raised to be.Sylvanas has far more nuance from this. With her soul back in tact, she faces the guilt of all of what she did. She wont continue being her evil self because she is functionally a different person internally but the same person externally for all to see. She will face her war crimes but wont be outright murdered like Garrosh did. Sure fanatics might try to take her life but the majority of the Horde and Alliance have proven that needless killing helps nothing. She will be a prisoner, and a sorrowful reminder of what once. Not to mention shes the "needed' link between The Hero and Zovaal. I wont be the judge to say weather its good or bad story telling. For me, its mighty interesting though. After I write this post, Im gonna go back to doing dailies and listening to an audio book on something else. I dont put much energy into theory crafting, or judging stuff. Its just a game and a means to be entertained for about 2 hours a day lolI think a lot of people are disinterested in the game way before story is written, somehow the story just becomes the straw to break the camels back. It shows signs that WoW was once addicting and this is the nature of that grip loosening.
This raid ends like a cliffhanger at the end of a tv season. I usually hope for some sort of finale at the end of a season, don't like cliffhangers at all. So, we have a villain who never, ever makes a mistake or loses a battle. Bad writing is bad.
I don't understand. Why do people hate this?
