Love this!Edit: To expand on this - I absolutely love that Sylvanas lives and gets her soul back. Very exciting to see where that goes!As for Anduin ooooh I hope he goes full mad villain! That would finally be something fresh, not the never ending "hurr durr horde bad". Plus the fact that he was the most holy "friendship is magic" character ever only plays into why it would be so awesome to see him do a 180!
Gotta love that free "Get out of Jail" card. š¤”(No puns intended)
This plot couldn't drive a wheelbarrow.
I understand everyone's issues....but I loved it.
Please, stop redeeming genocidal tyrants, thanks. You would not want Hitler or Staling getting redeemed either. Steve Danuser (or whoever wrote this) needs to read something about the Nuremberg trials.
The story of Shadowlands isn't 'done' until the last patch but as a mid-term review it ain't looking good. And please, for the love of Sargeras, stop sending death threats to writers. There is no reality where that is acceptable. I wish that Wowhead would have an article flat out condemning that behavior. The fanbase needs a stern dressing down.
Damn it all, had to make another post because I am just spewing all over the forum about this beautiful but stupid cinematic....F!@k it all Blizzard, why you doing this to us?15. Zovaal tells Sylvannas that she helped him restore something stolen from him. His sigil. However, the other 4 sigils were not his, therefore, to become as powerful as he is currently, he needed to steal his siblings sigils. If he didn't have the other 4, he is basically and Eternal One. Maybe the strongest, or the oldest, or once was the leader, but clearly not Titan++ unless he has all 5 sigils. Just seems that way.16. Zovaal is portrayed as extremely arrogant, in that he clearly gave her back her 'fractured soul' so that she could suffer. We know this because of the lore Blizzard has put out recently with Veressa and the fact that her pupils are blue now, not the entire eye, like Anduin's are. Which means she is not dominated, she now has her High Elf sould back. In addition to the actual cinematic art that clearly copies the art of when her soul was taken by Arthas in her Warbringer's cinematic. Also, Blizzard clearly used the blue color just before her soul was taken, and the purple/black colorations used to depict the 'domination' magic seen first when she kills Saurfang. D!@k move.17. When Zovall tells Anduin to come with him to be the first to witness 'Realities End'... Anduin, I believe purposefully drops the locket... he is leaving a sign that he is still "with us". somehow, he is in there.18. I'm still kind miffed that Blizzard put out the Chronicles, then tells us that we should just realize that is just the Titan perspective and that we shouldn't take it as canon, because its just a perspective. Now we have this Broker nonsense lore coming out, they say it could be an unreliable narrator, which is just a 'back door' to change whatever they want when they want because now they are setting the stage for all information they put out to just be framed as 'perspective' which is horse !@#$ because regardless of facts, just saying it is perspective, means they can fall back on that whenever they want... Which leads me back to the Titans Chronicles which has 'Reality' at the center of the 6 Cosmic forces. The Titans were most likely mostly correct, they most likely have mistaken Azeroth for a Titan World Soul, not realizing that it was much much more. And they may have not gotten the very origins of the universe correct, or maybe they did? Who knows. But it does seem as though 'Reality' IS the binding force in all of the Cosmic powers, and if the Broker is to be believed, and this may be true, that there is a 7th Cosmic force... that force is most likely 'Reality'/AKA Azeroth. 18. It now seems more clear that Sargeras might have realized that he was being played at the end by the Dread Lords, and that Kil'jaedin was actually the one working for/with the Jailor. (the title 'The Deceiver' seems more fitting when you realize he was deceiving Sargeras, not necessarily those he was manipulating) I speculate that when Sargeras actually found out what was happening, that is when it clicked and he realized he needed to destroy Azeroth, not to stop the Void Lords, but to keep Death/Zovaal/Jailor from getting it. Something just didn't seem right along the story arch for the Burning Legion. At some point, Sargeras thought he had to wipe the universe clean from the Void, but why then did Azeroth become the entire focal point of his plan to wipe the universe? It make no sense that the Titan's couldn't rip the Old Gods from Azeroth. They already did it to the most powerful of the Old Gods infecting Azeroth, instead of getting mad and ripping them out, it seems like they just put Titan Keepers on the planet and locked up the Old Gods... Kinda stupid, unless the Titans knew something they didn't share and Sargeras just didn't understand at the time.I have to believe that at some point, he kinda figured out he was being played by someone. It couldn't be the Void Lords, because fore all the Old God whispers and thousand truths, he was sold the goods that they had a single purpose, to get into reality and corrupt a Titan World Soul. For beings that believed in a thousand truths, that seems kinda single-minded don't you think? The whole thing just seems kinda weird and not cohesive. Many other fiction / game / etc... worlds have tons of lore associated with them, and this just seems so fragmented. Lastly, I think what drives players crazy about the story-telling as of late is not that it is any worse than it has ever been (however most people scream that, even me at times), it is that for many expansions now, we seem to be getting more 'splash' story-telling through cinematics and wow factor moments than actual world-building. I have a shelf full of Blizzard World of Warcraft soft-cover books that I have read many times and I don't remember the outrage back then about so much lore being out of the game in novels because there was still allot of lore in the game, and the books were just adding to all the world-building we were getting in the game. Whether true or not, it seems as though allot of players a feeling like the writing is not portraying the 'stakes', or providing enough 'reasons' for what we are doing and why. It seems to me that allot of players are also getting more frustrated with the story-telling that we are some kind of 'Azeroth-saving Champion Super Hero' in the game, but the questing and interactions between our characters and the primary NPCs is one of 'hey champion, hero of Azeroth' go do this, I know you have saved the world 6 times already, but go kill 12 boars and get me their teeth kinda crap. There is no, Hero, what is your take on the situation? I know that would be difficult, but you can't make us the Savior of Azeroth and keep treating us like peons. Many of our fellow players have said to stop &*!@#ing and give constructive feedback... Well, these are my thoughts... even though I just want to scream! Do Better! This all I got man. Flame away!
The puzzle box of Yog has new whispers and the Tarot Rune toy has interesting interactions too as a side note. The relics you turn in also have whispers.
This is a testament to the fact that WoW's writing pretty much gone to !@#$ since Metzen left. I'm not saying he was perfect though. Things added up for the most part when he had creative control over the franchise.
Bad writing from Danuser and his team. Again. Sylvanas is the good girl now and Jailer instead of killing useless Jaina, Thrall and Bolvar lets them leave cause 'fantastic' writing. WoW needs new writers, the sooner the better.
Right... Blizzard have now proven they can't write a story to save their lives, and have done the absolute worst thing they could have possibly done. Really says a lot about them that they don't have the balls to make Removed pay for her crimes or have any consequences for her actions whatsoever
It actually hurts to see what's happening with Sylvanas because she used to be one of my favorite characters of all time. Jaina is another one and I don't have a problem with her in WoW, there's actually a lot that I like. But Sylvanas has just gone to *!@# imo which is sad.
Jailer: Doesn't remotely attempt to hide that he plans to enslave everyoneSylvanas: Serves the Jailer willingly for a decade in-universeJailers: Says the words "All will serve."Sylvanas: "I wIlL nEvEr SeRvE!"
As much as I dislike Garrosh, I'll give the dude props for standing by his decisions rather than suddenly acting like he had no idea he's been serving the embodiment of evil for over a decade.
Yeah...I'm actually done with this game, this is beyond garbage at this point, a child could've come up with a better story than this and I wish that I was joking. If their end goal was to make you cringe yourself into a ball then they more than accomplished it, Denuser and everyone else who green lit this need to be fired immediately.
No, just no.I mean on the visual side art team never dissapointed but this story.... no.
I guess Blizzard's story writers never read anything more complex than Harry Potter books, it's safe to assume this sets the standard for what we should expect from now on.
