I am absolutely disgusted how poorly this feature is explained. I'm the kind of player that researches everything to try to plan and maximize efficiency and I am so frustrated at how poorly this system works. I was able to get the dredger pool at level 1 --- now I have fires from candles. What puts out the fires? My butler from level 2? Well I got him. He's not putting out fires. And I didn't dismiss him. And that's just one example of poorly explained/executed features in an overly cumbersome system. And that seems to be the trend this entire expansion. Loving the artwork and I really enjoy the story and characters -- completely turned off by giant, overly busy systems.
I like how the entire wowhead comment section deteriorated into the wow forums.
I've been doing the Ember Court every week and I'm even prioritizing upgrading it over other buildings, but the amount of anima required to upgrade it to level 4 is absolutely insane, and there's one more level to boot. The scenario and preparation itself are alright, the issue comes from getting the RSVP and geting new upgrades. Some of them are nuts. If you ever get Droman Aliothe, just reroll invitations and try to get other combinations. Her RSVP quest requires you to talk to five different brokers in Revendreth, Bastion, Maldraxxus and Oribos, and the initial item requires a random material that might be relatively expensive on the auction house; and without Wowhead you wouldn't even know how to invite her because there are no indications to where to get those items. Expect one or two hours to get all the RSVPs depending on your combination of guests, and this doesn't take into account the quests required to unlock some of them. The Ember Court is basically timegated by two things:- Bulding level: this limits your amount of guests. More guests = more reputation per week.- Reputation: this limits your options. You won't have security until honored, for example, and no ways to deal with the safe/dangerous axis.If you don't level the building, it'll probably take an entire year to get the reputation to exalted. And even if you're upgrading it every time you can, this reputation takes a really long time to level, more so than any other I've seen. Also, like I've said, every time you improve your reputation rank you get access to new options, but you have to do quests to unlock them, and they're not exactly few or short.Basically, if you want to get this to Exalted... prepare to spend a lot of time (both of active play and waiting) and potentially lots of materials and gold. I still don't believe how the Ember Court got released in this state, the least they could do is increase the reputation they give substantially and rework some of the RSVP quests.
I have 4 character, one in each covenant. My arms is venthyr and I did the ember court two times and gave up, boring af and no rewarding for the time needed to do the quests. I just maxxed portals and almost finished the conductors. My second one, prot paladin I am maxing the Path of ascencion because I find it fun and enjoy, and the portals because they are usefull (insta teleport for both dungeons of oribos). My unholy I am just maxing the fleshcraft construction because I think its cool, and later on my conductors, no portals in this charThe last one that I created this week is my Havoc, night fae, I think I am not building nothing, ardewald is small and ppl said the seed construction is garbage, just doing the storyline because is the one I have not saw yet then gonna switch to kyrian (or stick with fae if I adapt in pvp with havoc).
Loving these comments! Making me glad that I didn't spend any anima to open this up at all because to me it seemed like a really expensive expenditure of anima for virtual dinner parties.
All I see on this thread is "waste of anima". What else do you do with it? It's just a fluff currency not tied to any player power. Spend it on whatever floats your boat, it doesn't matter.
I haven't leveled up anything because it isn't worth it..a portal to oribos? I just go with the taxi mount.
the whining on this is so hilarious. If you think a little, youd probly understand that the mini games will be around all expansion, without changing much. its not supposed to give you everything within 2 months of the expansion dropping. obviously with there being enough anima to open zones back up more and more, there should be a n increase in anima available soon*, and then youll have more to buy up all the stuff you (and i) want. youre not getting a new expansion in a few months people, so this stuff isnt being handed out like candy on halloween. so sit back and enjoy the really good expansion, or unsub and keep it quiet.
Amen to that. I have portal on lvl3, mission table and conductor on lvl2 and special buidling on lvl3 while still having enough anima for lvl4. It's doable when you do some WQs and not waste anima on petty stuff
