With all the Brokers' shenanigans, I wouldn't be surprised if we had at least a dungeon related to them. Matter of fact, I'd be pleased!
I can see it being a raid or the last part of the Jailer raid/encounter.It was said that if the Jailer manages to reach the Arbiter, everything is lost. Last phase ending in Oribos at the Arbiter?
As much as I don't mind Oribos architecture and etc. but I don't want it to be the next raid.A combination of 4 zones bad guys like Viraz, Helya and others would seem better to me.Or maybe an additional zone like mechagon/nazjatar/timelessisle but for Shadowlands?
Trash mobs attacking the city and last boss in the arbiter's chamber maybe i guess
The WoW team has generally referred to dungeon art as any art done in an interior setting, probably to differentiate it from outdoor environment art (zones etc.).I wouldn't take it as a strong indication that Oribos could be the site of an upcoming dungeon or raid, but of course, that possibility shouldn't be ruled out.
Some details of Oribos art are sure a good starting point but in general the art is rather boring, just asits the most boring(imho) capital of an expansion ever, and maybe at the first sight very functional it is the opposite to that, thats to only one mail box and the extra running to it and thx to the dumb placement of the air taxi. Which makes it in summary one of the most ugly art designs for an expansion capital, plus one of the worst functionalities for an expansion capital ever and on top its boring cause the art design repeats itself in a too big room. All praise to Dalaran, Oribos cant challenge it design or art wise, and sure not functional wise.Oribos is like an empty Shattrath with just one mailbox and a second floor for the air taxi just to have people run the extra mile. But this catastrophe called Oribos matches lots of the world quest, which are horrid too.
I would say that a raid is quite a stretch, as Oribos is big, but not that big. An oribos dungeon, however, is totally something I can see happening. As it stands, Oribos has four levels to it (not counting the broker's den) - the main level, the flight deck where the gateways are, the Arbiter's level, and a floor that looks a lot like the main level in layout, but isn't able to be reached, and only can be seen if you look down the "maw chute". That floor doesn't appear to have any NPCs in it, and is currently unable to be reached, but is clearly fully textured, and has had environment work done in it. It doesn't sound too unbelievable to have a dungeon in Oribos where the lover level becomes overrun by creatures escaped from a broker mistake, and you have to venture down into the lower level to deal with the threat before they overrun the rest of the city, like the Violet Hold dungeon in Dalaran. That can be where the unused portal in the brokers den leads to.Head through the broker portal down into the lower level, deal with roaming trash mobs in both the main plaza and in each wing/section (since they're mirrors of the main floor), and then defeat a powerful enemy/boss in each of the four equivalent sections (one in the crafter area, one in the inn, etc) down there to finish the dungeon. Its a great way to have an extra dungeon you can easily add into the game in a patch on top of other content without designing a lot of new assets, and gives you another place to use the oribos assets you've already designed, as rn theyre only really in one city. It's a win-win for both the players and the designers.
"The jailer must not reach the sepulcher" - The PrimusI'm sure that this line will become clear, whatever it may mean, soon enough. Oribos will probably have some part to play.
It's nice, it has a certain feel to it. Like afterlife bureaucrats work in this building, not that it's a city. I'd hope the longer mortals and brokers are there, it gets more decorations, at least some tall potted trees outside the inn, for the longbois to eat haha.
If Oribos become a raid, i want a final duo-boss, the Arbiter and the Jailer together.
I think they might make it a part of the raid, from one to three bosses (one lfr wing), with the last fight being on the Arbiter's platform. We may be protecting her while she awakens or fighting her, if the things get bad during the story. In any case I cannot see Oribos being a whole raid, without new raid zone etc.As for Brokers, my guess is that we'll go to their island/covenant in 9.2, and it will be a Mechagon-like sandbox with a dungeon. The broker boss from Castle Nathria actually survives and teleports away, so I guess there are "good" and "bad" Brokers, like ethereals. Some of them will probably still help us.
title is kind of clickbait "raid artist who designed raids, desigs a city, must be a raid" is kind of a stretch to put into the headline itself.
