The issue isn't that they instituted a 320 ilvl requirement for warfronts, which seems appropriate in and of itself. The issue is that one faction had most of 3 days to farm them without that restriction, and many took advantage of that with alts that weren't well geared and others leveled up alts to take advantage of it, in the anticipation that it wouldn't last like that. And they were right, because it didn't last. While Alliance have the better part of two weeks to get up to the 320 requirement, they will do a lot more work to get there than their horde counterparts did. In the meantime, their horde counterparts, having taking advantage of the easy gearing situation while it lasted, will be spending that time doing higher level raids and mythic+ runs than their Alliance counterparts will be doing due to their lower gear levels. I suppose the devs could balance things out by letting Alliance have the same amount of time at the start of Phase 4 for their warfront scenario without the 320 min ilvl, but I really don't think they will do that. What they should have done is forseen this situation in the first place, or at least once it became apparent on the first day, acted then to deal with it. Instead they take the better part of three days to come up with a solution that clearly provides an advantage to those that play one faction over those that play the other faction. And that's just not fair, nor is is very respectful of a large segment of their player base.
so not only do i have to play an alt to have fun in a warfront, now my alt has to grind ilvl for days. totally locked out. this is so dumb.
we need trinkets and rings as drop from warfronts
I „made the mistake“ and geared my alt before warfronts opened.- ilevel 300/310 is crafted quite cheap and also buyable at reasonable prices - This will push your ilevel around 300-305- Then wq items and/or 2-3 heroic dungeon will help - Darkmoom Card Trinkets were around 10-20k at my server - farm arathi rares, they drop 340- build a mythic group with main chars on the same armory type and do 2-3 mythic dungeonHopefully you are now above 330 in one day and can enter warfronts :)What are ilevel restrictions for LFG Uldir, please?
This is a great change. It restores crafting economy to being worth something. Before now, it invalidated both crafting and early dungeon progression. Requiring Warfronts to take 320 keeps the quality of people in there higher, and keeps the economy and early activities stable. I approve.
it's pretty amazing how blizzard continues to make this awful system worst and worst every passing day.don't get me wrong, this hotfix is great and should have been since day 1.the problem is, you literally gived the horde not only a clear advantage bypassing gear progression, but also, saying "screw you aliance, you need at least 320 to enter" like i don't know what the hell was blizzard thingking with all of this clown fiesta.
Hell yeah Horde got to enter at 280 and skip gearing progression, Alliance gets 320 ilvl entry barrier ( not that hard but still) Definitely not feeling like faction favoritism or anything like that.
I will do only M+2 from now on,look what a priest from my group got from Motherlode+2 just now :D https://ibb.co/ju82Ep
Oh, god. That's disappointing. At least there's no ilevel requirements for Arathi and farming rares, but I was counting on warfronts being a good way to getting alts up to speed without all the horsing around. Now I'll have to treat them all like a main for a few weeks, ugh.Islands are already annoying enough to collect stuff from without the gear from warfronts.
What really bothers me here is the fact that just like the other new feature introduced in this expansion (island expeditions), warfronts are terrible at best. Not fun, not engaging, they sold them as "WoW going back to it's RTS origins" but all they really are is a glorified 20+ man scenario that's fully scripted. In my eyes this new "feature" it's not at all different from the Legion introduction broken shores scenario for example, except that here you have to chop wood and gather stone or whatever. There really is no difference if you think about it. Regarding the IL requirement,it beats me how they didn't think of introducing it while they were developing that garbage they call content. Like everything else in BFA we are paying to play a Beta full of unfinished content, and everything is subject to stealth changes, most time without any communication at all. Only yesterday they bothered to clarify how PvP weekly chest and M+ weekly chest work, literally hours from reset.
