Those example trees left alot to be desired. I think https://www.cuckhead.com/beta/talent-calc/paladin/retribution/BOURZRFBBYFQUDcUCRQOVRRURBFQlEIkJRCAQWill give you a much more robust single target profile, but you will give up things like Divine toll, but frankly without the Ring Clarity Conduit, Divine toll IMO is ^&*! for single target as it equates to one holy power, in cleave and AOE much better,It leaves us with what we have now with the 2-min/1-min rotation of abilities, but we miss out on the divine toll, but like I said without Ringing Clarity, Divine Toll might as well be toll the dead from DnD.However, like its been said, we actually lose power with these talent trees, because we have to so wide into the middle sections to maintain a semblance of the power we have in Live.Drop Condeming Blade and move Holy Crusader over to that node, or even better combine the two.Why Blade of Wrath doesn't deal Holy damage I'll never know. Hey here is spec that dishes out holy damage till their Enemies poop librams for weeks. lets make a insta cast ability not deal "magic damage." Justicar's Vengeance needs to be buffed by 500 %. No self-respecting Ret had used this ability since its inception. The Power cost to the damage it does has never been anything but laughable, and the healing done by it even gets made fun by a none buffed Flash of light. Even with the stun buff. Sanctified Ground is poor man's Death Advance. yeah we get slow reduction when you stand in our tiny consecration, but guess what you got knocked out right after you drop Consecration. You are SOL, or have to blow blessing of freedom to get rid of the slow. Then again why not just pop BoF in the first place so you don't get slowed at all?Long arm of the Law was great to see back, but needed to be buffed not removed. Or they need to add back in Speed of Light. Hell, I want the leap that we were going to get at one time, over the damn horse. The horse should be a CD that drains your mana as you use it, so you can't have it out all the time, but if you need it it is there. 4 God Damn points you have to put into your Charger to make it equal to live? Its a slap to the face. it should be at most 3 points, to match the ability to Talent, to conduit cost as we have it now.Boundless Judgment is forgettable and should instead be Consecrated Ground so at least we could combine it with Sanctified Ground. First build had a bit of Consecration build going on, and I like the theme of it for Paladin. A Holy Knight the wrecks havoc on the undead and demonica as he consecrates the ground he walks on. But the numbers on consecration have not been worth a damn for like a decade now. You want to give us a consecration divine Storm AOE build? The do it, and but make the numbers worth it. Make it so when we pop divine storm, and get a consecrated blade proc, add a buff to Sanctification, that every time Procced, the duration of Consecration that you cast is extended by 2 secondsConsecration use to mean something when you dropped it. It use to do enough damage that you didn't want to stand it. Now days it barely knocks the dust off your boots.Avengering Wrath: Might. Are you trying to piss us off? Bake that %^&* back into the ability. FOR ALL PALADIN SPECS. instead give a node there instead. "Vigilance through Vengeance" While Crusader Aura is active your Shield of Vengeance is buffed by X percentage and your Party members gain a weaker Sacred Shield for 5 to 10 seconds or until consumed. That above turns Shield of Vengeance into a worth while DEFENSIVE cooldown, and also turns it into a M+/mini raid cool down. The sacred Shield doesn't need to be big, but I bet even 1000 point shield when in good gear would make healers smile. Giggle at us, but still smiling.Honestly Sacred Shield was for me one of the Greatest spells you ever gave Paladins. Even though it was *!@# power wise on Rets compared to that of Holy Paladins. It still felt good, and in line of the class Fantasy when I could in raid drop a few GCD's into that and maybe drop them onto your healers when I bit aoe was going to come out.A, one, Positive. Exorcism. I am so damn happy to see that spell back. It was a great farming tool back in the day when paladins had almost nothing to do at ranged. Now that it does damage, applies a dot, and that dot can spread in aoe situations. I love it. LOVE IT. and will probably play it myself even regardless if sims say its suboptimal because I loved the spell, I loved that it fit the Class Fantasy, and the buffed version we have now is *chef kiss*. Honestly the only thing that could make it better is if it granted 1 Holy Power on the initial cast. but I could also see that being too strong for a ranged spell for a melee class.
what a disappointment the first version of the talents was much better (I'm not saying that there wasn't unnecessary crap just like in this version) with those I thought that the R paladin would have at least a small chance to compete a little in dps with the others but that wouldn't be Blizzard, it's impossible for a paladin to have chance
Why they removed Long Arm of the Law is just beyond me. Totally. Beyond. Me.
This is the second version of the talent tree so im confident that it will change again. My First Impression
They should perhaps add back blessings? But with the stipulation that they had back in old expansions where it was one per paladinBlessing of kings: Absorb every 10 seconds equal to X% of health kinda like the Azerite ability (Prot Only)Blessing of Might: attack power/ spell power increase by X amount (Ret Only)Blessing of Wisdom: X% of mana regenerated every 2.5s cones (All)Blessing of Light: 50% debuff reduction, 2% holy healing on top of heals (Holy Only)Just some quick ideas…Also why have they removed long arm of the law? If it’s removed from talents it’s should be baked in…
