Lots of dumb comments on how Bots will ruin the economy. Really? You can make 25 transactions a day per account so Botters won't be able to do @#$% when they are away from the game. Not to mention they call it a "Bot" because the character is scanning the AH while the owner of the account is afk so the Bot is literally on ALL THE TIME ALREADY. NO NEED FOR THIS FEATURE. Please know what you are talking about before posting nonsense. This is an amazing feature for players who have a life away from their comp that runs WoW or has an iPhone. People really need to stop with the pessimistic bull@#$%. If you don't want the feature than don't get it and shut the #$%^ up. A LOT of people are going to be getting this, just like Celestial Steed.
This post was from a user who has deleted their account.
I was excited when I read this upgrade features on my iPhone, then sad when I saw that my realm wasn't in the Beta testing. I will get this as soon as it available. Checking and opening mail from AH/creating auctions/checking auctions without logging in and with the convenience of doing it from my iPhone....yeah that is pretty awesome! Now if only I can run Actioneer so I can batch-post....ha ha ha
The obvious limitation is that right now I'm tracking sales, income, expenses, all through an addon. If I used the external app, I wouldn't be able to do that.On the other hand, there are cases where I wouldn't mind at least being able to browse the status, as long as I wasn't blowing anything up. If/when this comes to my server, I'll probably get it for at least one of my accounts. And yeah, 200 a day isn't enough to be particularly relevant; I think I usually have 500 auctions up these days, and I'm a small-time operator, just doing enough to keep myself in epic flying.
By the way, I'm a big fan of this. WoW has N^2 bandwidth usage -- that is to say, if you double the number of people online, you quadruple (roughly) the amount of data that needs to be sent around. In particular, if you double the number of people in a zone, you quadruple the amount of data being sent for that zone. Now think about auction alts. Outside of the Big Spenders who do things like "monopolize all herbs on a server" or "anyone in my guild can send me stuff and I'll sell it for them", the vast majority of auction alts could probably be adequately served by this feature. So could a whole lot of browsing. If I'm thinking I wanna pick up some cheap mats, I might not need to be logged in to browse. And that means massively reduced bandwidth costs, because instead of everyone in IF getting updates on the location of a level 5 gnome rogue, and me getting updates on the movements and actions of dozens of people, the ONLY data transfer for me is the auction house data.So I'm enthusiastic, although I think it will be useless to me if they don't add some kind of logging functionality.
I'm not sold on it yet, but I can easily see the utility and awesome factor of this... A few people in my guild love working the AH to make gold and something like this that lets them check in to make sure they can make sales is going to make them very happy.I just don't like the $3 fee per month. I mean, I get keeping bots out, but ugh. Guess it's the price you pay to corner the market!
Big deal, so now I can watch the AH from home and work.. but what about when I sleep? COME ON TECHNOLOGY WTF
Milky, milky, milky! Doesn't make much sense..
I love this feature, and ill gladly pay an extra 3 dollars a month to be able to check up on my auctions. I Don't get to log on as often anymore due to work, school and a girlfriend Ill be away from my computer for as long as 5 days at a time, but during those down times, or when im at my girls house I can check my auctions and empty my bags. Awsome! Hopefully they come out with compatibility with the droid, as of just now my itouch has finally been made useful.
