While i like preach the fact he of all people has a seemingly direct line to the devs is a bit troubling. He has basically stated in the past he really wants "overwatch with raids" where there is no choices or decisions and everyone is identical other than skill. It's hopeful that his time in FFXIV has given him appreciation for things other than just raiding. And hopefully he redoes his UI and weak auras since I thought those were some of the best around
Is that Preach or a fish, cant tell from all the flip flopping.
Good thing for WoW overall, but honestly lost respect for guy.saying one thing and doing another is a big L especially when you are a dedicated streamer.
People need to rewatch his original "end of an era" video, I don't think he is contradicting that video anywhere. He said he would stop actively covering WoW in a way he used to, meaning he wouldn't constantly play it and make a video out of any small thing on beta or live and that's what he did. Also he didn't say he would never play it again, he said he would check it out if they made improvements which mattered to him (meaning if they would make the game more easier to just raid log) and it seems like they did in DF so he is checking it out. It won't be his main game but he can review it at the very least.
I like how the "see you next expansion" response is basically a meme on the WoW forums to those who make dramatic posts about why they're leaving the terrible game that Slapped Them in the Face,™ and yet here we are with a "high profile" example.
I absolutely love the braindead takes in the comments. I am so glad none of these people are capable of timing a +3 or higher. That way I don't have to deal with them.I am looking forward to Preach's content.
holla BALLASGlad he's back.
Belluar has some of, if not the best content on youtube. If anyone from the UK was going to be given this opportunity it is him.
What makes me smile are all the people in this comments section who think Preach asked / begged for this trip to Blizzard and not the other way around. I don't like Preach and I don't like the current Blizzard, but you have to be objective to realize that it benefits both parts.
Wowhead comment section is as rational as ever I see. Y'all need to touch grass more.
Tbf he never said never again shall i play, but he certainly took adventage of the boom of both success of ff14 and how popular bashing wow was. Just a lot of clickbaity titles, thumbnails and when that was what got views. Fair enough you couldnt say anything bad about ff14 at the time, or anything good about wow or people on the internet would devour you, but he did completely go hard into that.
the comments in here demonstrate vividly the fact that the wow-community itself has longs since given up on wow ever being a decent game again. A content creator leaves the game because its &*!@, comes back after a few months and the only thing the community thinks is that hes trend-chasing. The concept of wow getting better, a therefore being worth coming back to, doesnt even cross their minds.
Reading the comments I don't understand the saltiness I'm seeing. Preach has been right about practically all his takes since BfA ALPHA. I don't agree with all his takes but he was definitely right about most in hindsight. He's pointed out problems (Like Azerite gear, borrowed power, time-gating, etc.) along with many other content creators and Blizz ignored them. Then the same thing happened AGAIN with Shadowlands. Him quitting and not sticking with a bad game during a dull expansion was fine. Nothing wrong with him coming back. Blizzard needs good PR right now and his opinions carry alot of weight within the community. I wouldn't be surprised to see Blizzard bring in other content creators like Bahjeera or Soda to HQ for DF hype building.Seems to me like alot of these commentors just don't like negativity about their favorite game? Even though the current expansion was bad? I don't understand.
I hate this really bizarre attitude people get towards streamers/content creators where they basically aren't allowed to do things "normal people" do all the time. How many of yall have taken a "break" from WoW to play something else? Do anything else? So Preach was upset with WoW and Blizzard, well yeah, so was majority of the community for MULTIPLE GOOD REASONS. Just because he makes content, or was extra salty about it, doesn't invalidate how he feels about the game or the people making it at the time. I'm not saying they're "better" either, but Blizzard has fired numerous people who are POS, and have made many good changes over the past few months (which I believe they still have many more to go). But at the end of the of the day, Preach is just like any of us here, a WoW fan, and deep down despite the hurtful comments people can forgive and move on. The difference here will be has everyone involved learned from the last time? Only time will tell~
