The best time that I felt was epic is obtaining my flying carpet. The reason I say that is I have only been on wow for 5 months and I am just trying to stay leveled up, I hit 70 the day before wrath of the lich king came out and I went right back to questin. Well anyways Not many people had seen it and I got alot of questions sent my way about it. That made me feal that I had something significant finally.
By far the most epic (yet at the same time ironic) drop I have ever gotten occurred when I was farming mats in TBC for Runed Eternium Blade for my Shadow Priest. I had all the primal might, and was farming (or trying to farm) the last of the adamantite in Shadowmoon Valley.I hadn't yet gotten my flyer, and as I rode past Sancturm of the Stars, a Rich Adamantite Node showed up on my mini-map. Thinking this would be the last thing I'd need, I booked over to it, only to see a large air elemental pathing around it. As I dismounted, I heard the always unpleasant "something is stealthed by you" sound, and suddenly a 70 Night Elf rogue is standing by me.Wondering if we could share it, I start to type a friendly emote, only to see him run to the elemental, give it a whack, and (rather predictably) proceed to chain it over to me and *poof*, the pudwhapper vanishes. As I am beating on the elemental, Capt. Shifty reappears, laughs at me, and proceeds to mine the node. Grrrrr.... I kill the elemental and run over to see if I can squeeze in a swing before it's gone.... and no. It disappears. He laughs, tells me "NO, not gonna happen", and stealths away.I go back to at least loot the elemental, and what is on it but The Ancient Scepter of Sue-Min . I only wish the rogue had stuck around so I could have mocked him. He got the node, and I got a 2000g drop. :DThe money from that sale bought my flyer, and the memory of the whole thing always makes me chuckle...

Pre-WLK I ran Kara constantly trying to gear up. As a tank I really, really wanted the King's Defender. I spent many hours trying to get it to drop and it never does. It just must have been my luck. Months of farming and nothing.A few days after WLK a few of us get bored and decide to try to 7-man Kara and it drops. Finally. When I no longer need it. I decide to roll on it anyway because no one else in the group needs it.Hunter decides to roll need and he wins it. This is how it goes for me.
Well i would have to say that the most epic item i have received was the Big Battle Bear as my future self came to me in a dream and told me that i would win it on the very last day of the contest.
A "drop" which I vividly recall, from the spring of 2008, was my 40th Speckled Tastyfish on a Sunday afternoon during the Stranglethorn Fishing Extravaganza. No winner had been announced at that point. Perhaps you can imagine how nervous I was, when clicking my Hearthstone to take me to Booty Bay...and then how happy I was running out of the Inn and seeing noone near Riggle Bassbait, the contest director. Yes, I won!Oh, and for the prize I chose the Hook of the Master Angler -- it's good to be a fish!
The Hunter Bow and StaffMy most epic loot was when I, after days and hours of preparationsand days of whiping and dying and days of waiting for those bosses to spawn! I finally beated them all, and recived my very best epic loots http://www.cuckhead.com/?item=18715 and http://www.cuckhead.com/?item=18713The feeling when i beated them one by one is so big i cant even tell how it felt, it was just the best thing that i've ever experience in wow. Thanks Blizzard for my very best adventure!
killing a rare during the scourge event and getting the epic legs i needed it made em happy
My most epic drop is my Emerald Dragon Whelp. I'm a bit of a pet nut (I have the 50 achievement, and the feature I was most looking forward to when the big patch before Lich King came out was the fact that my bags would be free of wildlife.) I camped the little bugger for so long. I wish I could say that I got him after hours of camping, but fate was not so kind. I did spend hours slaughtering hundreds of whelps to get a pet whelp (to this day I don't get how this works...), but I was never rewarded for it except with some silver, a few gray items, and the mournful tears of green dragon whelp families realizing that their loved ones would not be home for the holidays.Rather, one day when my friends and I were going to Karazhan, I ran over to the Swamp of Sorrows to waste some time while people got there. I figured, why not? What if my whelp drops? The best way this story would end would be that the first one I killed drop it. Very poetic. This would not be so.It took three more whelps. Not bad, all in all....three more whelp pets to go...
