One epic drop i will always remember was getting the Reins of the raven lord the fact being that when it dropped, our priest went crazy because she loves the mounts look. I think she was pretty much in a good mood up until i rolled higher than her for it :< She always holds it against me now when we're raiding and in heroics, but its all cool :>
just the other day, an 80 horde DK was flying around, fishing from other people's highland schools all evening, trying to get mr. pinchy. he would flag (im on a pve realm), and jump up and down in front of people's bobbers, trying to get them to attack him. one such person was my RL wife. she gave up after several times of this rude person doing so.a few hours later, I went fishing for mr pinchy. surprise, this DK was still at it. he jumped up in front of me, flagged, and I accidently clicked on him. I'm a hunter. I killed him, and continued to fish. He came again later on, fished from my pool, flagged up, and jumped and down again. I killed him again.Three times the charm, I killed him the third time he attempted this. after that, he was unflagged, but still fishing from other peoples pools. about 5 minutes later, at the last school of fish I was working on, he ran over, and I fished up Mr pinchy before he could get his bobber in the water.I never felt more happy to get loot in my life, with all the trouble he was giving everyone all afternoon, and how many ppl he killed trying so, to get mr pinchy myself while besting him.o, and first use, i got the magical crawdad pet from it too :)
A mere twenty-four hours after the official release of vanilla WoW, the newly-enlisted mage "Wintre" had grown weary of the grind after nearly 40 levels. In a previous life she'd been a warlock in WoW beta, and it was then that she had picked up a knack for fishing up unusual--and useful--items from local watering holes during stretches of drear and monotony such as what she was now feeling. The Lushwater Oasis in the Barrens had long been one of her favorite places to drop a line, kick back and soak up some rays - and the very psychedelic "Flip Out" feeling she got from poppin' Savory Deviate Delights was just that much more icing on the pie. (She's a Troll; evidently it's pretty tough for Trolls to make aesthetically-pleasing cakes with so few fingers. Pie, on the other hand, is acceptable as just a lump o' goo... and Wintre's a perfectionist!) This day, exhausted but driven by an overwhelming need for "just-a one more, mon..." Deviate Fish, her nonchalance quite unexpectedly yielded a rare treasure! It started with a tug on her fishing line - nothing special at all. "Hrm. 2 pounder. This-a one'll make fer a flimsy Ninja, mon. As she began to reel in the delectable delicacy, the water in the Oasis was suddenly lit by a flash of what could only be described as black lightning, (and no, it wasn't just one of those pesky Kolkar Stormers turned invisible again!), and what had been a tiny tug on the line curiously began to rapidly increase in strength! Thinking she had misjudged this feisty fish--and now that much more determined to catch, cook and eat it--Wintre yanked vigorously up on her fishing pole, setting the hook firmly and--*BOINK!*--getting hit square in the left tusk by a gleaming, golden, rune-inscribed... and quite un-fishlike... RING. What a find! It took her a moment to realize what had happened and to pluck the tiny bauble from its perch upon her (stylish!) mandibular protuberance, but she soon had a chance to examine first-hand what turned out to be the only known ring of its sort in all the land: ! Upon realizing what a unique discovery she'd made, Wintre began jumping uncontrollably for joy--completely unrelated to the Savory Deviate Delights, I'm quite sure--and shouted at the top of her lungs for all her friends, guildmates, and envious Barrens gossip-jockeys to come see and admire. And come they did!To this day, she has yet to meet a single other individual who possesses an identical treasure, though she has heard whispers that may indeed have counterparts somewhere in the vast World of Warcraft. But until such whispers become tangible artifacts, (and we all know how that works), Wintre's special discovery in the Lushwater Oasis will remain, by far, her most epic loot drop ever!
Back in vanilla wow, the Unstoppable force. Then of course, the Stoppable Force in bc :)
Most epic loot I have ever gotten...well the one I'm most proud of more than any is my little pet Azure Whelping. Now most people don't consider pets like this one special or anything like that but for me this little guy really is. I don't care if he doesn't have a blue or even purple name, I'd like him just the same. Dragons have always been a favorite of mine and to have one following you around constantly is something I really really wanted more than any epic gear I could have gotten. As soon as I found out that it was an available pet I wanted it, and I wanted the blue one. The black, red, and emerald dragonflights were nice, but the blues had been at the top of my list. I originally looked for one on the Auction House(hopefully even able to find one), but at the time I was new to WoW and 1200 gold was all to far out of my reach at lvl 55 and as a ret pali who hadn't bothered to lvl his professions, all that more impossible. So then I decided that I would go get one myself, though I must admit the 1/1000 chance drop rate caused my hopes to drop it didn't discourage my determination. I grabbed some quick supplies and took the flightpath out of Orgrimmar and into Azshara. Now the Azure Whelping only drops off of Azure Dragonkin, and lvl 50-54 elite Azure Dragonkin at that. At lvl 55 with only greens and maybe one or two blues on this was going to be one hell of a challenge. For the next couple of days or even maybe weeks I would just simply log on and kill the dragonkins, dying a good deal of times and having to compete with one of the server's bots. Since it was "lolret" at the time, instances were out of the question. I must have grinded atleast 3 lvls and killed over 400 of them before that little guy dropped. I still remember where and how unexpected it had been. I killed a Draconic Mageweaver to the south of the buildings, and moved my cursor over to reclaim the loot. Honestly I couldn't believe it when I read the item. "Azure Whelping" in white letters, the icon of a dragon on it. I was in such disbelief that I checked here on WoWhead just to confirm it. I twitched with joy in my seat and typed in /dance to my bloodelf for atleast five minutes before actually reclaiming my prize. I immediately equipped it and brought forth that of which I spent so long farming for. I loved how the little guy floated there in the air, his tiny wings fluttering and his small roar sound he made when clicking on him. I must have just sat there in excitement and "/dance" for another five minutes before deciding to head back to Silvermoon to show my friend. I always kept him on my actionbars and always kept him in my inventory, and I still do even today. For me he represents my determination and will to succeed. He is also to me a good luck charm and I will often take him out when raiding for just a little bit more of a morale boost. I love it when I get the occasional whisper from other players "Where did you get that? I really want one."
