when i was level 67 in nagrand i was doing the quest line where you have to kill the felguard lookin things and me being a rogue and nobody on my server wanting to group i was stuck trying to get the loot from it on my own. so i went and tried to solo it and i did...i had to rogue kite each elite all around nagrand (throw, deadly throw, and crippiling poison. not to mention pots and bandaids) each one i kited all the way to nestingways safari (almost pulled durn 4 times....) on the last elite for that part of the quest some crappy green helm of the bandit dropped. and the one i had was better but it still sits in my bank to remind me of how much a pain it was just to do that stupid freakin quest.
I also once looted a gang member's skull while fishing in undercity.I wanted a Voodoo Skull, But it was nice.
Before WoW was released I read about it and looked at all the screenshots.I decided I would play WoW simply for a Mount and then quit as I'd achieved my goal.3 years on and I have 12 mounts but the day I got my Warhorse was easily the best.
My most epic loot would have to be my level 40 mount. I had been saving my gold for it for a long time and I still had to borrow a bunch of gold from my friend. I was so happy when i got it, but little did i know that a few days later in the upcoming patch the mount was going to be both cheaper and allowed at level 30. Around the same time that i got my level 40 mount my brother, whom i share an account with, was reaching level 30. A few days after i got mine he got his for much cheaper and at level 30. He laughed at me, but still to this day i always tell him that my level 40 mount is much much more epic than his level 30 mount.
The most epic loot I have ever received came to me just a couple nights ago. My guild decided to try its hand at 25 man Naxx, and I went along for the ride. We grabbed as many guildies as were geared, pugged the last couple spots and headed in. I ended up being one of three different warlocks, not the best if I'm looking for some t7 or something, but there wasn't much I could do about it. We started with the arachnid quarter, and before long we had downed Anub'Rekhan. After a few high fives were spread around on successfully downing our first boss in a 25 man, we moved in to look at the loot. Sitting right on top of the pile were the Leggings of Atrophy. Not a huge upgrade for me, but a solid one nonetheless, and I rolled. I ended up rolling something around a 30 and lost by a long shot to about 9 other casters. Not the best way to start a run, but we had more than a few bosses to go and I was sure I'd get something out of here sooner or later.Unfortunately, Anub'Rekhan was to set the tone for the whole night. Grand Widow Faerlina dropped Faerlina's Madness as well as Lost Jewel. Both were significant upgrades, and both of my rolls were below 25, leaving me still gearless. Maexxna dropped Digested Silken Robes and my roll was worse than those on Faerlina. We moved on to the military quarter after Maexxna, and I figured I had to be due for something. Before Razuvious, we had Ousted Bead Necklace drop off a trash mob, and my roll was in the low teens. Instructor Razuvious dropped Boots of Forlorn Wishes but the gods were against me. I rolled under 10, and I started to get a little discouraged. However the next boss was Gothik the Harvester, and I knew that if by some insane chance I were to get Life and Death, everything would be all right. We downed him without too much of a problem, and headed over to check out the epics. Lo and behold, there it was. I got up out of my chair, did a little dance, prayed to every god I knew, and hit /roll.I rolled a 4.The one thing that was supposed to make everything all better, and I roll a 4. It pained my very soul. In a daze I went on and cleared more trash. We made it to the Four Horsemen, and all I wanted was to hurry up and finish this quarter so I could leave. We wiped once or twice, but downed them eventually, and I didn't even care what dropped. The first roll was Armageddon and it made our dps warrior more than a little happy. 2 t7 chest pieces dropped that weren't for my class, and I was ready to hearth and call it a night when the leader linked the last piece of loot. Damnation. All the casters went crazy. Not expecting for a moment my luck to change, I /rolled anyway, just for kicks. I couldn't believe my eyes. I had rolled a 98. All night I hadn't rolled anything higher than a 30 and now, on the best staff currently in the game both in stats and in looks, I had won. I was so happy I couldn't even do anything. I just said goodnight to the guild, hearthed, logged, and stared at the character screen. The next morning when I got back on my computer I did the same thing. Just stared. I couldn't believe I had actually won that staff. Even now, a few days later, I still pause on the character screen just to admire it. It is by far the most epic piece of loot i have ever recieved, and I highly doubt I will ever find anything in game that means more to me than my new staff.
The most epic loot ive ever got was the Time-Lost Protodrake after camping it for over a week, I found an alliance hunter that had just tagged it. I killed him and then killed the rare spawn drake for the most sickest mount ive ever seen. This is my most EPIC loot so far :).
so, im a mage, during the burning crusade i had been lvl 70 for a while now and desperatly desperatly wanted in on karazhan, but my gear was horrible. I retook up tailoring and worked for 3 days straight to finally get it to 375, after which i grinded for almsot a whole week to get the materials for the Spellfire set. Iwas sooo happy when i got all the mats, then i found out that the cloth has a cooldown. I was so upset, but i ported right over to shatt and spammed "LF TAILORS TO MAKE SPELLFIRE CLOTH, HAVE MATS AND WILL PAY WELL" for hours and with the help of my guild and some random tailors here and there i finally got my spellfire set. I was so happy. After which i soon got invited to kara the next week, after a few runs i proved my worth, and became top dps in the guild.
My most epic drop was something I actually made. It was my Mechano-hog, on of the new multi-passenger mounts.I wanted to make it upon an epic anvil of some sort, just to say that I did, and so I went looking for something that was indeed worth the time to do it.After finding out that the giant anvil in th Storm Peaks (Fjorn's Anvil) was not able to be used to craft items with, I turned on the next best thing for a Horde player; The Great Anvil, in the center of Ironforge. After leading a small group there, about five of us total, we had been ruthlessly camped for about 15 minutes. To our rescue, though, came a Horde City raid, who provided us enough of a distraction to clear out he area around the Anvil, and give me enough time to craft the bike (The cast time was 20 seconds). Thus, my Mechano-hog was made, using the Alliance's own Great Anvil. That was my most epic crafted item ever.
Repeat of yesterdays post. I say this so I don't take up 8 lines of text. (like my story)
A long time ago when ragnaros was Epic loots. We had just downed him and lord behold the Eye of Sulfuras droped, the raid chat went wild and we proceded to roll. the first person who rolled on it rolled a 90, than the next a 97 than it was my turn thinkin to my self that the chances of me rolling a 97 to tie or a 98 or higher were very low, but i decided to take the shot anywase. I took the roll and behold my eyes was a 97, we had tied, me and the other player rolled once more. i had rolled a 2 thinking to myself well there go my chances of geting Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnaros, the tension could be cut with a knife and the other player had rolled a 1! i went Crazy in ventrillo, cheering. ever since that day my Paladin still has that weapon even tho he is lvl 80. every once and a while i bump into the player i rolled against and whip it out to brag. That is my most epic loot .
One of my most memorable "epic" evenings was spent in the Netherwing Ledge mine, doing Netherwing daily quests. What made that night epic was that in the space of an hour, not one but two Don Santos' Famous Hunting Rifles dropped from the local inhabitants. The first one was surprise enough; getting a second one really amazed me!
