Well, there goes virtually every addon that uses folder paths to display textures
"there will be a could different ones:"PROOFREAD!.
I just check this, and my addons was moved along to the _retail_ folder, I don't use Twitch, so its moves automatically
...oh hell I hope this won't break my synced add-ons between my two computers.Takes me ages to learn how to set them up...
I copied a bunch of folders to another new folder on my external drive this morning EST. Screenshots, error logs, WTF, Cache, and Interface/Addon folders. Just so I had a backup and could reference it later. My (old) addon folder alone had over 8k files in it, and I didn't want to lose references like screenshots and error logs I could reference.Twitch did in fact change the file structure to the now correct "_retail_" one, and while Zygor has yet to catch up in its manual sync to local PC option (optimizes the addon for faster reference during game play), it seems to be working fine. The addons that did not work for me, even after checking the file locations, and which I had to disable in-game, were RaiderIO, Wowdb Profiler, and Wowhead Looter. No biggie, as these will probably be addressed over the coming days and weeks and into January (especially the Wowhead addon).
Okay I need help, this update reset my game fonts to the classic wow fonts and I've had them as Accidental Presidency for years. I deleted the font folder and re-made it and re-named them all to ARIALN - MORPHEUS - FRIZQT__ - skurri and I still have the same huge font in game. I need help this is going to drive me insane until it's fixed.
Oh, great. Should've google it right away, before spending 20 min recovering deleted files and screenshotting all the loaded addons. Somehow 3 addons out of like 100 failed to move to new folder, and they were still displayed in twitch app - of course, first thing I assumed was twitch app deleting most addons instead of updating them due to some bug. >_> With all the trash stored in my /wow folder, I didn't even notice the new _retail_ until *after* returning all addons back where they were manually...
guys, read about command "mklink". it can realy help if you dont wanna keep the PRT files in same folder with Live WoW
When I was installing WoW Classic Demo, installer copied half of data from my main WoW install, and downloaded the rest. So some support for this was implemented at that time. I suspect that for PTR installer could copy most of data in similar way. This new change is even better, no data have to be copied so a lot of disk space and time needed for copying files is saved.
