What if premonition removed the damage buff from pi completely and just did stuff that helped the priest heal?
I love it ! I was worried they would reduce the utility of priest because of augmentation evoker. Most comments here are idiotic and baseless because they cant read. but that is nothing new.
How to make this far less terrible: just copy how FF14 Astrologian works. Where you have two buttons, one that "shuffles" which of the buffs is "selected", and another button that actually gives that buff to your target (this also "shuffles" which one will be for the next time around) . The actual "use" button has the full 1m cd while the shuffle button has maybe 10s or so, allowing you to shuffle it a few times to plan ahead which buff you want to give next. In FF14 there are I think 6 different buffs and the shuffling is completely random but in this case you can make it deterministic with a set order.
I really dig the class fantasy of this - I like that they’re open to ideas because right now it does feel a little clunky. Someone said it sounds like Twister Fate’s W from League of Legends and that’s exactly how it feels and what I’m not excited about. Having to wait for the spell to cycle through sounds kinda’ rough, especially if you’re waiting for the spell and then all of a sudden there’s a mechanic, a burst of healing or something else to do. I appreciate that it’s off of the global CD and doesn’t cycle through that fast but that’s also an issue in itself. Recently League of Legends introduced a champion called Hwei who plays like no other champ in the game - you press either Q, W or E to open up a school of spells and then press either Q, W or E again. So you could do QQ, QW, QE and they’re all different spells within the same theme. I feel like something like that would be better - give us one bind (like PI) and we can select based on new bindings or clicks. I heal with click casting so having the same bind as PI and then either left, middle or right click for each different one would feel pretty simple to use. I feel like that would be a lot less clunky and a lot easier to use than waiting or it to cycle through. Other options:- Set buffs for different specs (more work and balancing though) - Primary stat buff instead of one of the 3 and just keep it simple - Damage and defensive so you can have more expression for how and when you use it - it could serve as an additional small defensive for someone that needs it? I dunno, just spitballing. Overall, I like the idea a lot. This definitely makes it feel like more of a support role and I can see this having a much higher skill ceiling than other hero classes which isn’t a bad idea by any stretch. Feels like this is the ultimate min/max, especially for Disc and for some Disc players I’m sure they miss that since the rework. The implementation feels like it sounds clunky and I could easily see it becoming tough when lots is happening in M+ but the class fantasty is strong and I dig the idea of expanding PI to feel more meaningful. Blizzard have had some GREAT reworks this expansion, but tuning can be very wonky (think HPal - rework was amazing but tuning has really messed with how it plays). I’m optimistic about this as long as the tuning is good.
When the entire point of the spell (literally in the name of it) is for pre-emotive gameplay and planning ahead…and all any of these comments do is complain how bad it is from a reaction standpoint. You aren’t supposed to react with premonition, you’re supposed to use it ahead of time…most raid pulls and m+ pulls you know when your dps will be using big CDs; also there’s adding that display cd icons with a timer inside them of your group so again YOU WILL KNOW WHEN THEY COME OFF CD. If you don’t enjoy this level of planning, or push content where this matters…then don’t play oracle? It’s not like this is your only hero talent option :) But y’all sure act like the sky is falling for a talent system that’s supposed to augment 1-5% of player power given they’ve stated multiple times that hero talents are more for flavor and style than actually impactful…and the only people who care about 1-5% differences are players pushing high end content…and those players are already CD tracking sooooo
I don't often actually heal on my priest, BUT, I don't think that devs should design abilities that all but require add-ons to use effectively (not even optimally). In the midst of a screen full of bloom, unless you have a weak aura or something flashing an icon of your cycle half the size of the screen you are not going to be able to use the ability.
The priests get a 'see the future' mechanic before Evokers do? Aw man
this tree just looks awful in general. there are so many things in it that just clash with how other specs play/work. a talent to reduce the cooldown from a minute down to 50 sec, makes it near impossible to figure out how to spend it correctly. WHAT SPEC IS A 50 second spec ? i feel like keeping track of this rotating buff while needing to pay attention to party health AND the mechanics of the environment is just gonna be such brain overload. mostly just leading to stress and frusteration rather than anything positive. If this goes through, its gonna be damn tedious to play ORACLE PRIEST.
The only disappointing thing about this article is Tal didn't use his own hand for the thumbnail.
Yes, Holy/Disc are already in a supportive role, so are other healers. So why wedge Augmentation as a dedicated support, outside the healer role? This feels to me like it was intended as a support priest spec. (Which I don't necessarily dislike) But jackhammered into a hero talent tree.It feels like needless complexity and added work for the healer in an already busy role. God forbid someone dies as you were monitoring the Premonition cycle to get the "right" buff. Can't say I'm the biggest fan of a random high impact proc either, if it was predictable or some kind of build up to it, then I'd be more on board, but as it stands...no, much like an ascendance proc as a pack dies it'll feel most unwelcome.Don't get me wrong, thematically I like it, but right now it's a mess of needless complexion that will serve only to scare new players or new healers away from the specs.Excited to see more trees, hopefully sooner than later.
Think about a current Situation, we are in waycrest manor @ soulbound Goliath, DPS survival cooldowns are Off, Boss has many stacks, i know the next Thorns can be deadly despite healing Spam.I want to give my Mate in Thorns Solace for the heal increase buff, instead he gets 10% more magic damage..? Because thats the current Rotation of my buff, Really? that MUST ne a bad Joke right, it has to... No way its random when i neeeed the healing buff now!
Fire these devs.
Not a fan overall but most criticism has been laid out here. One thing I'm wondering about in m+:If you play a comp with 2 magic dps and a phys dps, will one of them get a useless buff from Clairvoyance procs?
