what a cooked change? how about we make older rares spawn more often? :)
...but why?
Fun detected
Every change they have ever made to Zaralek has been completely bad. I don't know why they want to purposely stop players from going to this zone.
Please, just nerf the health. It's such an easy fix. I'd be down there killing rares immediately.
"Unpulled rare elites in Forbidden Reach and Zaralek Caverns should now despawn after 15 minutes, unless players are in their immediate vicinity."Oh fsck right off. I have absolutely no idea what this "fix" is possibly "fixing". Dead space? You have players genuinely excited for new content - they rush off and do new content. Old content gets left behind and we no longer have fully-populated 'murder trains' roaming the zone. I was an i443 S2 tank and I wasn't bothering because I couldn't solo them and Group Finder produced nothing. Suggestions:1. Make the old content soloable.2. Make the old content drop current-level gear. That's how suffusion camp remains popular. It's working for WQ too.3. Add current-level gear / special tokens to the old currency vendors. "we sniffened a new smell up there and realised you'd need *this* new thing!"4. Make a neutron star. Make it so that *everyone* near a rare gets dragged to the same shard like they are in an immense gravity well. Maybe crowds will form around spawned rares and then do stuff. What's really irritating here is that it's a self-inflicted injury. Wrathion and Sabellian both need us to help reclaim the Onyx Throne because of what wonders might lay inside for us to use in the battle against the Incarnates! We did it! We're superfriend with both of them and can raid the basement for weapons and treasures! Except that's where it ends. No real victory, no repeatable evergreen content as we plunder wings of the basement every week like we're back in Torghast...Emberthal needs us! The Szkera Vaults are a stockpile of fun stuff to be looted and maybe weapons inside for us to use in the battle against Sarkareth and the Djardin! We did it! We're superfriend with Emberthal and can raid the vault for upgrade tokens and other treasures! Except that's where it ends. No real breakthrough; we get Domination Shards 2.0 but no repeatable evergreen content as we plunder the vaults weekly. This is what's irritating. Blizz is creating this situation and then 'fixing' it by reducing what incentive to return actually remains. You want a cheap way to get people back in the vaults or back into Zaralek for rares? Quantum Tokens. Start dropping Quantum tokens at a rate that you can mebbe farm a 1-3 in a week (capped ofc) from the Reach or Zaralek; mebbe the great vault rewards them for open-world content etc. People will come.
"old zones" lmao
... What? What's the point of this? This has never happened before, and doesn't add anything to the game other than a giant middle finger to people who want to go back and get the items off these rares. You can still do that literally anywhere else, but for some reason it's a problem for Zaralek Caverns?
I already quit trying to get the slitherdrake scripts because no one is there and it takes 20+mins to solo tank them.
This change alone confirms they've either got no idea what to do with rares or are uninterested in making them an engaging player experience, AND it proves that they're not as interested in 'respecting the player's time' as they indicated at Blizzcon.Extremely shameful.
This just punishes people that didn't grind it all out when it was new since the zone was practically dead a few weeks after it released. I'm sure a lot of people just said "meh I'll go back and do this when I'm more geared and it's easier". Well sucks for them huh?Blizz just doesn't get it or has weird ulterior motives for dumb changes like this. Gotta keep pushing those hours played numbers!
What are they smoking?
"Blizzard is letting go of old stubborness".This change says otherwise.
Bad
