Nice. Hope this makes obstructions less annoying. Fighting 1st dragon mini boss in RLP the trees are always getting in the way. Having to change angles to see what is going on constantly whenever you move. Dodge a breath, Affix, or whatever.
I needed this feature yesterday! I'm so done with the scenery constantly blocking my view during crucial moments. Mythic+ runs especially.
Almost there Blizzard, almost there. It wouldn't be that expensive to do one additional raycast per frame - from the camera towards the player. If anything is hit, apply a transparent material to it. Boom, solved! I mean this is better than nothing but it'll cause some issues. Especially for characters wearing dark outfits - it'll be quite difficult to tell if they are standing in front of the obstacle or behind it. Also it won't help them see things such as swirlies or bosses.
NICE!
Now if only they could also apply this to mobs, spell visuals, and other players for all those narrow hallways that block everything with walls.
Now if they can just make it so when a raid bosses room is small the walls don't push your view in so much you can see inside your character.
Maybe I'm not remembering right but I could have sworn that it used to zoom in when camera was blocked by something and zoom back out when it wasn't in the road anymore. I can't remember when it stopped doing this.Worst place for me was Horrific Vision in Thrall's room as a hunter it was constantly getting things blocking my vision.
I didn't know I needed this, but I very clearly do. The devs dropping a huge W out of nowhere with this one.
good stuff, needs a white outline at the edges
now if only they could make it so the wall doesnt block my camera and make things super hard to see everywhere
Hey, that's pretty nice!
Good change, even while hiding behind foliage or objects.
Not very useful, at least not without being able to see ground effects. I already know my character is in the middle of my screen, but I have no way to tell if they're standing on top of a swirlie when they're obscured by tree leaves.
It's kinda sad to see how far behind Blizz have ended up. There was a time in early 2000s when Blizz was the leader and introducing new tech to gaming. But then they just got stuck with mostly the SAME 20 years tech while other games sprinted far ahead to the point a lot new tech is almost a thing of the past for them while Blizz is playing the catch-up to 5-10 years old systems.
Now only 1 thing left is for tight spaces not to mess without our camera. Let us stand near walls and be able to see. Camera going wild anytime you even come close to a wall is one of the most annoying things in WoW. We know how much Blizzard loves their tight hallways and corridors in dungeons. They are always the best. Much gameplay, such enjoyment.
Useless feature, for those who don't know your character is always exactly at the center of your screen. We need transparency to see what's going on.
