I hope Gnomes get a new capital or updated Gnomeregan back too as well. Happy to see the night elves are moving on from their tragedy as well. The ending of the Fyrakk campaign (after the raid) was absolutely amazing.
Are they going to add a portal for Gilneas?
Clearly NE get screwed and Horde get extra benefits because Horde won the war (or at least the battle of the tree)
I'm so confused how any of this signals Horde bias. That's not even sarcasm, I honestly can't tell. Alliance and druids are getting a portal to a night elf city, what do the Horde gain?
Man, if I had a dollar for every time either a nelf player/fan or dranei player/fan threw a temper tantrum over some perceived slight Blizzard has done to them (despite these two races being the biggest movers and shakers since the last RTS game), I'd probably have enough money to pay on my rent for a few years. The whole reason we got stuck with this world tree arc in the first place was because back when the head story telling honcho was the guy who essentially ran the biggest frat house outside of the UC Irvine campus, he wanted to create "shock value" to start off the story. However when he and his cronies got kicked out, any particular plans of what was to come after that was taken with him and that Dan guy and his team had to sort of work from square one... Except now they had a huge tree on fire to start from. The fact that we got some kind of reasonable closure (and a lot of new assets) despite all the wonky storytelling is something of a blessing at this point. Likewise, Blizzard has been pretty open as to why they're doing this from a gameplay and technical standpoint; they want the Dragon Isles to be sort of a starting point for new players and of the new questing and gameplay models along with a revamp of the old world zones.Because let's be real; there's a lot of stuff in both Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms that is just old and outdated as hell. There are assets that are used there that are back from the RTS days that have obvious low-tri counts and low resolution textures that really have no business being in a game in this day and age. I can literally go to some points on the maps with maximum viewing distance on and see the very edges of the map where the ocean blocks just stop. Not only that, many of the quests and story lines that exist in those old zones are dated by a decade now, and much of the quest design for those quests is incredibly archaic compared to what we have now. Likewise, any changes that was supposed to have happened to these zones, whether it's changing faction hands or a city having repairs done to it, is not present at all. Currently the only zones that are older than the cata-revamped old world zones are the Burning Crusade zones, meaning that if any elf players should be annoyed about getting the short end of the stick, it's the Blood Elves whose capital city is still stuck with ultra low poly models and outdated quests. My whole "conspiracy" at this point is that the reason we're getting the Cata classic servers is more due with having a sort of "time capsule" of the cata revamped world so that players who truly want to revisit that content have the means to do so since the new revamp is going to be very drastic. I suspect things are going to be much bigger and with changes from the past expansions being in effect. So for me, moving the nelf capital to the Dragon Isles is logical, especially if there's drastic changes for the old world planned.
The Emerald dream course way should really have the portal connected to the Emerald dream it would make more sense to be honest
The portal to Emerald's dream should have been in the eponymous area, not on the island that was given to the Kaldorei after the tree emerged from the dream. It would have been much more logical if the two dream zones accessible to players were connected. This only anchors the city into a "hostile neutrality" exit that no Kaldorei player wants.
We get a new city in town, settling for good the refuge status of many NPCs, allowing them to have change to start living in peace and build a new home, under protection and guidance of dragons. This is good! The artworks look good, the devs put quite some time into it and are also looking for ways all players can enjoy it, not only a part of it.And still people complain, like just because wanting to complain when it's not going like they want. When have you forgotten to enjoy a game?A bit like nothing from the dragons, that its about family and community, was learned. It's not about horde or alliance. It's we players and the devs who make this game.Enjoy the game and treat it as what it is. A game.I for one will visit the new city with my characters. From both sides.
It looks like the way the devs are heading its very "East is Alliance, west is horde".Watch blood elves lose the remade Silvermoon in Midnight 12.0, and then future patch that was the foreshadowed "Reunion of the elves, including high elves" hand it over to the alliance.Makes you wonder when horde get another city. Maybe something for trolls somewhere in kalimdor, or in the new zones that are technically UNDER kalimdor?
PLEASE, @Squishei... re-tag this to PTR...Thank you.
this is bad. This takes away from immersion.By just instantly teleporting everywhere the world becomes pointless.
How is this "live" ? can u stop posting ptr things live plz :)
