Blizzard doesn't want people getting high keys. Why set rewards that high for the 2%. My guild worked hard to get to the 16/17 level last season for the all +15s achievement. Now we are going to struggle for a 10/11? The achievement level is reserved for the very few who were able to pull off the +20s and better last season. #funpolice
This is terrible. Mythic+ this expansion hasn't been great as it is. And now they are significantly harder. Raider io will have a bigger role now
The 30% increase is on par with item levels increasing substantially AND essences. Seems less of a buff than I expected it to be! Nothing unexpected.
Is your table wrong or am I not understanding it correctly? Your table says 557% for a +19, but in Sloot's stream it says 405%https://www.twitch.tv/videos/450794314?t=06h38m51s
M+ this expansion is not nearly as fun as it was in Legion. This combined with the awful Beguiling affix will make really put a strain on people wanting to do this at all.I expect heavy nerfs as players revolt on this
This is a horrible argument you know that, right?I mean you'll be a lot stronger with your soon-to-be 450-ilvl character, not to mention much stronger trinkets and an entire new essence tree.our power will scale a lot higher than this.
Dont really understand how it took u effort, i pugged mine with sub 400 ilvl and got my own key up to 15 then did that one in time with about 5 mins to spare within 2 nights work - dk tank btw
People don’t seem to be getting the point of the article. The base has already increased by 30% to account for our better gear and essences. Then blizz decided to FURTHER increase scaling. A mythic+ at the end of season three is NOT going to feel like the same mythic at the end of season two - season three will be a lot harder EVEN WITH better gear and essences. And the difference will be exaggerated at higher keys. So for folks like me that rely on mythic to stay geared this is a real gut-punch. This really bites.
This kind of change was bad even with essences and gear increases in mind. The keys already scale. Why should it matter if the highest key done during the season is a +30 instead of a +20. Thats basically what changing the base difficulty does. Increasing the base level once again just makes it harder for less experienced people to get into M+. The scaling increase was warranted to make key difficulty ramp up faster. It essentially changed nothing about the gameplay unless your goal was always to just do a 10 for the week. The base level increase was not.
Perhaps it's a fault of the system itself, with Blizzard awkwardly shifting values between seasons, but you are wrong. Yes, the 30% increase corresponds strongly to the item level increase but not entirely. We get slightly stronger than 30% between patches from item level. In addition to that, we got an extra ring in our azerite gear. That added more power and people were running keys at a higher level than Season 1. Now in Season 3, if they had done the same thing as they did in Season 2, we would likely be running keys in the 30s before long. Essences add *a lot* of power, between a range of 10 to 20%. If we assume a 35% increase in power from item level, and a 15% increase in power from essences, that's a 55.25% increase. In season 2 in a +15, the modifier was +172%. So a mob with a 100 health would be at 272. In season 3 in a +15, the modifier is 349%. A mob with a 100 health will be at 449. We take our number of the % increase, and we multiply it with the Season 2 number. 272*1.5525 = 422. That means +10 will be slightly easier than they are now, and +15s will be slightly harder. In essence, nothing changes unless you are pushing beyond that.
This is why I stopped doing Mythic+. You never really feel like you progress. Once you start doing high keys they increase the difficult so suddenly you're put back. The weeks are also extremely different in difficulty, so one week you might be doing +15 easily and the next you struggle with a +12.
Please also add the ilvl of the loot that drops per level to this guide.
