One reason it's bad is because it invalidates everything in the previous raid tier; no reason to step foot in any 9.0 content, but that's just how the game is nowadays. We don't play expansions anymore, we play patches.
great guide. thoroughly explains the user steps as well as succinctly outlining the features of this content. My friends were curious how catch-up gear would work when they resubbed and I just linked them the article.WAY better than the Draenei and Blood Elf 'leveling guides' posted this morning that Wowhead, thankfully, has taken down.
9.0: YOU SHALL HAVE NO GEARS9.1 YOU SHALL HAVE GEARS, FOR YOU, FOR YOUR ALT, FOR YOUR GRANMA...wait. Oh sorry, nice QoL though.
233 in 9.1 is equivalent to 207 gear now. So it's not really something anyone doing end game stuff like rated pvp/raid/m+ will even bother to pursue. This is strictly for the newbs
everyone saying this is good this is great hold on let it drop lmao. think about it aswell you can earn 6/6 which is mythic danathrius level not mythic level just the last 2 bosses so its the highest it can be defeats any other 226 gear so id assume the level ups are going to be an insane grind making it NOT alt friendly.
The actual pieces can be upgraded, not the tokenized versions of them. So in order to get ilvl 233 EVERY ALT should do Korthia dailies, gain Archivist reputations, etc.I'd prefer doing this only once on my main, upgrade the tokens to 7/7 and then send to alts. I don't have an intention to participate in group content with these alts, I need them to farm transmog weapons that are not droppable to a warrior (by the way, the change to loot per spec from rares of outdoor is ridiculous).

Jesus christ people, its because they still want you to play the character you gear up instead of giving them better than normal Sanctum gear through your alt. That's why its the item you upgrade, not the token. You people act like they should give you the exact same gear you have on your main, plus a blowjob for the hassle. If you wanna play an alt, you might have to put some effort into it.
I'm used to it at this point but honestly, 220 gear being that easily accessible is really depressing. Groups I regularly do N/H with on my Alts are really at the point of wondering why the heck we should bother to reclear the raid or do weekly M+/PvP when the rewards get thrown away this quickly.Ultimately the plan for this next tier is just to get AotC once or twice with everyone then stop for the rest of 9.1. There really doesn't feel like any point to continued gearing for players in this position. Feels like anything below the ceiling of gearing for your content (E.g. Heroic Raids and below) is absolutely pointless to continue doing beyond the first clear/ achieving the main goal. Earning more gear beyond that point for anyone around the 213 level of content is just dumpstered by the next patch's catch up systems.
I welcome any catch up gear system i haven't really bothered with lvling any of my alts yet so this will be a little helpful i guess.also lol at the last post being lockedlimiting speech is authoritarian by its very nature
Nice, shadowlands got even more alt friendly
