Gotta fight that inflation, amirite.
Honestly though... Even if they were 20k gold each and you would buy them, would you even use them?No you wouldn't because you have 1 to 3 favourite mounts you always use and these wouldn't be them anyway. But hell, I do agree that 90k is outrageous! I'm a collector and got a steady gold farm but I don't even wanna put that kind of money down for this.
Blizzard should just remove the Alliance at this point...
Does buying the mounts on one faction (270k) also unlock the mounts on the alternate version like reputation mounts usually do? That would be somewhat of a redeeming factor. That said, BfA already has a wierdly large amount of gold sink mounts/pets available compared to previous expansions. That would make sense if there were a lot of ways to make large amounts of gold, but in my experience most casual players are practically drained. I have to send funds from my bank alt to my main once in a while, which is unusual because in previous expansions doing content used to be enough to cover the costs of playing.A good point from the earlier comments; reputation mounts are supposed to be rewards for getting exalted with a faction. This is why generally, the costs for a reputation mount are a token amount; the real effort is in the grind of getting to exalted. Blizzard has admitted this being the case several times before by lowering the costs for items when unlocking them should be the grind, not the price after the grind (class hall pets for DK's come to mind). This makes sense, you helped a race or w/e and they reward you for your efforts, right? For true 'gold sink' mounts, this is different: the grind is entirely in getting the gold to buy them, anyone can access the item on the vendor window. In exchange, they are usually unique or have utility (traveler's tundra, yak, longboi or the spider/frogs). These mounts seem a weird blend of both; too lowly priced/accessible and not unique/appealing enough to be a gold sink, but too expensive for a reputation mount, being not unobtainable but probably prohibitive to a casual player. What is the point/target player group for these mounts? I'm a collector and I can afford these mounts (although I'm saving for longboi), but I'd rather they didn't add these mounts at all. We are getting plenty of cool flying mounts in 8.2, so these mounts are just nuisance expenses, much like the 500k pale direhorn. They add nothing but frustration for less fortunate collectors, or +1's to the mount count of richer players who don't actually care about their appearances.
if it's not a horse you better believe it's a !@#$in gryphon
Battle for Recolours, good one Blizzard
Mounts have become an elitist collection, there is only a very low percentage of people that have G enough for all these "sinks" in the first place. Maybe some people made a bundle in the last few xpacs, many more didn't, and you kind of have to "play" the game a certain way to make G efficiently enough to afford these 90k - 500k - 2mil - 5 mil mounts. It isn't the bane of my existence or anything huge like that but still, it's kind of annoying when they add really awesome things that only a tiny amount of people will ever get to enjoy. Most people don't care I guess, I bet if they introduced true player/guild "housing", starting at the low low price of 20mil or some silly amount then people would whine harder but as it is, it's just a sad thing that slips by sadly.
yay 6 more mounts ill never get because they are just gold sinks. better than the frogs but just a non-content.
HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA 90K for such piece of garbage. No way. Thank you. 30 secs of work, just changed collor from light green to purple. Very total good job. You must be overskilled and full of fantasy tho.
If they're going to keep using that bloody 7 year old Gryphon mount as "new rewards" could they at least fix the stupid Origami wings? They looked terrible and dated when they were originally released 7 years ago. Now I genuinely feel embarrassed for their development team that they actually think this &*!@ is passable.
Alliance all claiming Horde bias. Again. They are tired of always getting horses and gryphons. Well guess what? I'm sick of Horde always getting dinosaurs. It's nearly always some messed up lizard for us. I don't like any of them. None of the dino mounts appeal to me at all. And look.. oh boy.. more of the ugly things. Blech.
Well at least they got the headline correct "GOLD SINK MOUNTS". Boring, unimaginative recolors of the same things we've had since vanilla--hmm did Activision lay off all the mount designers too?Forget the cost--it's not about cost, it's about value. These mounts are worthless except for OCD completionists, and it's an insult to the player base to produce such low effort, low quality content.
