Real talk:He's probably been working on these for 6+ months.Blizzard artists probably had 1-2 weeks to do their assigned set + other side work.More time almost always = better art.The real problem is most likely that Blizzard artists aren't being given enough time + they are overworked/underpaid
this is why I'm thinking Blizzard could hold contests for fans to design tier sets for their raids. Entrants would have to waive legal rights to the designs (of course), but it's something they could put on their resume if they chose a similar career...I think it would be a viable way to keep with class-themed sets and not burn out their current designers (but I'm a rigger, not a designer so there could be potential problems that I don't know about)
I'm going to be completely honest and say that if these were actually released by Blizzard everyone would have absolutely hated them. The fact that we don't have class sets is blinding people to the fact that half of these are extremely cluttered, over-designed, way too vibrant clown suits. You look at the Paladin and Priest sets and tell me if Blizzard released those, people would have given them anywhere near the amount of praise these comments are.
The DK one is literally the nighthold set with some tentacles slapped on.The Shaman one is Ulduar set. Paladin uses Firelands as a base. They're all old sets with 5-15 minutes of paint over done, and then a color balance photoshop filter. Go figure why they're all neon. If it wasn't popular to hate Blizzard right now, this guy wouldn't be getting any traction. Removed
Blizzard, hire this person.
I will have to agree on this. Most of this is amateur level overpaints over already existing work. On top of that , if you look at previous Raid tier sets , the silhouette only becomes amazing when it reaches Mythic difficulty. The work he demonstrated features extravagant silhouettes from LFR to Mythic which completely defeats the purpose of having different difficulty looks. The Priest set doesn't work at all, silhouette is just far too big all across, the shoulders go from Big to Huge, the set overpaint isn't even a Tier set and just a standalone set ( Legion Order Hall ) And me as a 3D Artist I would have to actually figure out what most of the stuff is and how it works. There is also the clipping issue on a lot of the concepts which would automatically not make them viable from the get go and the issue from the looks of it are simply : The shoulders are too big.And sorry to say but : If Blizzard hired this person , it would be a slap in the face for people who can actually do concept art.
I mean.. yeah it looks nice and all but all of those armors are just slightly modified armors that are already in the game and people are going wild. Even with my limited photoshop skills I'm pretty confident I could make those. There is however some stuff on his artstation page thats really good.
Even if this is a resking of some "old" (I know some are not that old) sets that are ingame.. this is MUCH better than what we actually got. Ny'alotha was a HUGE disappointment for me.
These are AMAZING. Really goes to show what a HUGE mistake taking away class based tier sets it. Honestly, collecting the teir sets from previous expansions has been one of my main focuses since I can't participate in current raids. But I'm not really all that interested in collecting the BFA raid sets, as they're so generic. I know the first raid of Shadowlands won't have class based tier sets, but they really need to bring them back.
Pls bliizard give a job to this man.
Omg... these are stunning. o.o Blizzard, think y'all need some help in this area. Hire him.
They are all amazing! I wish we see more like them in live game.
Why is everyone exept Blizzard can make a good set
