What's the point of soothing mist at 1,1 when it will see no play at all as WW and BM monk? It just blocks Roll and Tiger Tail Sweep.
Oof, even WoWhead's acknowledging Monk has been saved for last yet again. In other news though, I don't think this fixes anything with the monk tree itself, much less with any spec. Mistweaver's side (I apologize Brew and WW, I'm mostly focused on MW) is actually worse now given we're having Expel Harm (an ability I didn't touch at all in SL) shoved onto our side. imo, just remove the dang thing.
Lol very funny because we still have a no-sense "Touch of death rank2" (same as rank1 in the kit), still broken "Fatal touch", and all conduits for brewmaster in the last row that are still broken! GG!
Where should I start.... I know Blizz is trying little by little make MW more enjoyble but I think they are moving in the wrong direction.MW has major issues at its core since LEGION, trying to iterate on a version of MW that has been left for the last minute for 3 expansions in a row is a mistake as we always have ended up as a halfbaked spec. They want to have 2 playstyles in the same tree and have the nodes not corelate each other for some weird reason as they've explained in a blue post . When was the last time both of the playsyles worked together? Thats right! MoP as WoD introduced crane stance as an addition to serpent stance and swaping between them was not a thing.Back in MoP if you mistweaved you were good, if you just fistweaved you were bad but if you did both you were an excelent MW monk. How was mistweaving good? The toolkit worked in complete sinergy: generate Chi> expend Chi> generate mana tea charges.-You would generate Chi by using 4 spells: Soothing mist, Renewing Mist, Expel harm and Surging mist.-You would expend Chi and at the same time gain mana tea charges by using 2 spells: Enveloping mist and Uplift. How was fistweaving bad? Simply puttin: Not enough healing output, main generator too expensive and very weird interactions, as fisweaving healing was spread into ToM, Eminence and your base toolkit. How was mixing both playstyles excellent? Generating extra Chi, on demand aoe heal with no ramp up time, smart healing, cheap matainance healing, contribute to damage.-You would get extra chi with Jab.-You would have on demand aoe heal with Spinning crane kick.-You would do smart healing by just using any damage spell.-Crackling jade lighting low cost mana, tiger palm and Blackout kick only costing Chi helped you having cheap mantainance healing and contribute to damage.Knowing all of this wouldn't be wiser to have MoP's MW back (obviously tweaking it to curent times) and work on the fistweaving part? or is it that I am just nuts?Curently I just see them bringing a Soothing mist build where you have to sit for the full duration to be somewhat worth (this has never happened, we never ever sat pressing Soothing mist for its full duration) and repeating the same mistake as in MoP by splitting Fistweaving into many nodes and making them have weird interactions (like spinning crane healing through Chi ji and Faeline stomp but not from AToM).The "good thing" now is that we are able to reach top numbers by having little control to who you are healing, the downgrade of not being able to smart heal at all, and the annoyance of having to press Fae/Essence to make your other spells do what they're already suppose to do.Don't they realise this is just a cheap and worst version of what we had in MoP? Is so annoying to watch your favourite spec being dismantle and then sticking it back little by little in a weird way and with missing parts.
nice to see ww talants are just a bad copy paste of the spell book. wish we could get some actually new abilitys. white tiger statue is boring but il take it i suppose. hopefully they add something to spice up the rotation
I read most of the comments in the feedback channel, and generally speaking they still have not addressed the glaring issues with the WW tree. Issues most of the people bring up, talents nobody wants to see in the tree, and to be honest they even made it worse in some regard. It seems like they are really fixated on giving us Faeline stomp in ST and bonedust brew in aoe none of which im excited about. Whatever is going on below bonedust brew i dont even understand anymore, two conduits as talents doing the same thing. At lest give us the covenant lego and let us play slotmachine for another expansion, where you can have huge swings based on procs. Rushing / Refreshing Jade wind is given to all three specs in their spec tree, if all three share the same ability why not have it in the class tree. Not to mention how bad it feels for WW to press this, spend a chi on it ever 5-6 seconds just to maintain a buff that does passive dmg, booo boring. Most of the feedback around this ability was to rework it, make it passive etc, and they just buffed the dmg on it. Amazing. Yet to see how ToD works out in aoe because it does not work at all.
What always confuses me about these post is the ppl complaining about not getting the extra roll charge and tiger tail sweep, even if it was a better spell before it i still dont see a world where you would ever pick them the CDR an range on leg sweep is a meme and who would ever need 3 rolls or 2+chi torpedo when we also get tigers lust for free. are you planning on solo running orbs on g'hunn xD
I barely see brewmaster feedback, is the spec looking that good for Dragonflight or does literally no one play the class? It's always MW this and WW that.
The issue i'm having is the endpoints. If mw and you go Fistweaving, feels like the tiger would fit better, but no synergy. So soothing mist would be the choice? But that causes issues with synergy with fistweaving unless its for a quick heal with expel harm or enveloping mist. Other choice would to take neither and make some hodgepodge build, but it'd feel bad to not get a endpoint since that'd be the main goal of hitting the next level other than endgame... Not to mention mastery doesnt even really feel good for MW monks going fwing since procs will be far and few inbetween other than renewing mist every now and then.
Honestly if you weren't snapping targets with a soothing mist into expel harm for quick heals then idk what you were doing.Lol, definitely not wasting 3,4% of our mana pool.Expel Harm seen little use for us in Mistweaver, only in WW and ofc in BM.With this recent change, we are forced to waste 1 talent point on an Expel Harm buffing talent, so we can go for the leech. This is just terrible, it would be better, to just make a line for Expel Harm. Right now WWs AND BMs are forced to pick Soothing Mist in order to buff their Expel Harm. As a Mistweaver main i absolutely do not agree with these changes. You just can not force BM's, WW's to pick Soothing Mist just for the empowerement of their main healing spell. And you just can't force a Fistweaving Mistweaver to empower their Expel Harm, in order to grant leech for their party members. We are accustomed to always be the last in Blizzard's plans, but please, this is just sad. They have taken from us the instant vivify cleave for Mistweavers, which is totally understandable, because it was way to OP, now they are blocking us with Expel Harm. We have 31 points to spend in the general tree, but:1: The fortifying brew line is just bad, a 6 minutes defcd with a 2 minutes reduction is just too much, and they gave us a totally random Expel Harm buff, all this nonsense for 3 points.2: The Jade Serpent Statue is just no good for the Fistweaving Mistweavers, forcing us to take the White Tiger Statue or no statue at all. Don't make a capstone which is not suitable for a build of the spec.3: The Windwalking talent is in a wrong place. It was a general passive for Windwalkers, right now this is just far away, only in very few scenarios will be picked for 2! talent points.4: Under the first Expel Harm buff, Vigorous Expulsion there is Grace of the Crane which gives us healing taken. This is clearly a helpful talent for tanks, but the tank talent tree supposed to be at the right side of the talent tree (with Profound Rebuttal and Strength of Spirit) so Windwalkers and Brewmasters could obtain it without talenting into Soothing Mist, which they obviously won't use. Regarding this, I would suggest to swap Transcendence as the base Mistweaver talent, so WWs and BMs could talent Transcendence isntead of Soothing Mist, and Soothing Mist should be moved to the Mistweaver tree. Ofc that means, Blizzard should design a capital talent for us in the middle which is eiligible and helpful for all 3 specs. 5: Emphasizing the fact, that I acknowledge the OPness the instant vivify cleave, I believe that 10 sec is too tight, I think there should be added a stacking up to 3 times buff, so we can do a little ramp for the big cleave as Mistweavers and as Fistweavers aswell. This would not be a huge change for Mistweavers, because they will play in ranged with clouded focus, so for them this is whatever because they will not spend 10 secs without casting a second vivify, but, for Fistweavers there are scenarios, where we are not supposed to vivify for 10-20 seconds, but we don't want to waste mana/ an instant vivify sor nothing.I like the way we are facing, but, this is inaccurate right now. With just a few changes Monks could be great again, and the community would love them more. As a Mistweaver queuing to keys is just sad, because we are considered at the bottom of the tierlist, and there are better options to WWs and BMs. In Raid content Mistweavers are good, but druids and priests are better, and WWs are bottom tier (look for mythic fated raid analysis) and Blood dks and Druids are superior to them. In 2v2 and 3v3 areans Mistweavers are bottom tiers, in 3v3 WWs are bottom tier, but they are losing to Outlaw in 2v2.My point is the following: Monks are good in some scenarios, but they are never exceptional or bis. But there are some specs, who excel in many situations, like holy priests, resto druids, blood dks, etc.I think, we are heading the good way, we need just a little more. Hopefully my fellow Monks would back me up on this, so we can achieve something better.
So basically it still sucks but there's more lines now.
