Random on top of random and you'll get the same wrong loot 7 times in a row.
I got 5K coins cant wait to spend them all in the RNG game..
About time, yay! So tired of all this RNG.
I'm gonna go against the Status quo here and say i'm kinda bummed for this...because I just got one of the mounts I've been farming for, for months...so many runs and I finally got it...only to find out that it'll be more common than a wild dreamrunner next patch. On one hand, I agree, this system should have 100% been one where you could purchase the mounts/sets with dubloons from the beginning...but, since it wasn't...those of us that did farm and get lucky kinda lose that prestige.yeah yeah, the RNG haters will say prestige doesn't mean anything and is stupid, or whatever, but stuff like that, you know uncommon special items/mounts/sets, etc. do make this game fun, at least in my opinion. (example: I don't need to have a black quiraji battle tank to appreciate it when I see someone else on it...but then again i'm not an entitled 2019 gamer either).I also want to say, the one common thing I've read in this thread is that people hate RNG...I come from an RTS background, but...isn't RNG like a staple part of the mmo world? When that goes away, like isn't that a core element that you're deleting? I thought RNG is what kept the game relevant...like farming bosses every week, going after legacy content for mounts/items you missed in the future, etc. I don't get it honestly...Anyway, the entire Island system was really messy imo from the start...and I don't think the problem was the bad rng from mounts and stuff...I think the island concept was the true issue that makes them bland and tedious. Like, I don't see myself looking back at this expansion and getting nostalgic for speed racing killing a bunch of trash mobs thousands of times over, with no real reward. To expand on that, the islands from an artistic perspective, are well done, but you don't really get to explore them since you're literally racing against the opposite faction...I think the purhcasable mounts takes away the feelgood prestige from earning the rewards, but I understand why it's being done (which I touched on above)...I'll end it on this though...the feeling you get after earning something you worked towards (be it grinding for an item/achievement/pvp/whatever) is something you will not feel if it's simplified and simply handed to you. I'm not looking forward to a million island thunderscales and risen mares in goldshire :|
As an MMO, they don't want you resting on your laurels. Like other types of in-game goals, the prestige you enjoy is usually limited-time only. If you're currently enjoying the prestige of having an island expedition mount, grats, that's your reward. If you want that feeling of prestige to continue, you have to earn it again next patch/expac with the next carrot offered. The top-tier mythic raider has to re-earn their prestige every raid tier. The PVP monster that decimates anyone in the arena has to re-earn that spot every season. The diligent collector has to do the same. Just like I can go in and roll mythic Blackhand for his mount now, or purchase old expac PVP mog sets with gold, or, soon, buy expedition mounts with doubloons, the goalposts for prestige move ever forward. That's the game.
opened 16 chest, got 5 mounts.beware, loot is fixed once you bought a chest, therefore buy only 1 at a time or you can get duplicates as well.
