Still remember when timewalking was added and said to be just something to have fun with IF a player wanted to remember the old days. Nothing attached to it.Nowadays its something that is a must do for anyone unless the few that don't care about any kind of bonus or collection. You need to do it for mogs, mounts, toys... now achievements and xp buffs. And it keeps increasing.Meanwhile they don't even fix the fact that you can't join this anymore at lower levels (still 50?)... lol.
Yeah, this will be one mount I'll never get. Regular Timewalking feels like a slog so often just to get a disappointing item that for me 8 times out of 10 is just a crappy trinket, ring, or something I already had. 50 total runs while juggling a temporary buff for an ugly reskin? They're crazy. This seems little more than for driving metrics.
Kinda wish the buff, once at 10 stacks, would last until the next reset. It's actually something I've wanted for the DMF buff and similar ones for ages, do a short activity once per event, gain the buff until it ends. Best case, make it account-wide.
Are people seriously complaining about there being a reward for playing content? Who cares if it's a recolor, even better for you if you don't care about recolors since you can then completely ignore the event. And 50 dungeons over 5 weeks is nothing, when leveling alts you'll do more than 10 dungeons per character to hit 70 anyway.
Oh god, ten dungeons a week. As if I didn't have enough to do... Was looking forward to having a little more free time for non WoW stuff.
It's kind of funny to see these mount bloat posts. Too many mounts. Personally, I'm a pet collector and I'm right close to my 1600 pet achievement. However, my daughter is a mount collector and she complains that I have so a many more pets than she has mounts. She posts on Blizz forums about wanting more mounts to collect. More skins, more recolors more options to match with her TMog outfit choices.IMHO, you can never have enough of something in a video game. The more there is to collect, the more things there are to acquire, the more there is to enjoy.I typically don't like the stingray mounts at all. Although this one, I think, is just enough of a reskin, with the beefier saddle and gnarly beaked toothy head, to maybe at least try out.As to the timewalking dungeons, I'm hoping it works like this. Pick one of my alts and run 5 timewalking dungeons for the 5 stack. Logoff until the next week. Logon, still have the 5 stack buff from the previous week, run 5 of the new timewalking, poof, have the 10 stack. Log off, rinse and repeat through the 5 weeks of timewalking.
If they want us to do 50 TWs to get the achievement/mount over the multiple weeks just make the achievement track that; no need to create an item and have to use it 10 times, stand on your head and say the magic word each week for 5 weeks. What if you're able to do your 10 TWs for 4 of the 5 weeks and then have an emergency (illness, accident, family member issue etc etc) and literally can't login to do it on the 5th week..They should make this more flexible and just let players run their 50 when and how they can (20 in the first week, 10 in the 3rd week, 20 in the 5th week etc). This isn't something that's going to drive engagement hard enough to make someone resub for that 5th week..Also, the BoA item exp buff is nice; just let the item itself stack more (at least unique 10 since that's what's required to get the buff each week, maybe more) and don't link it's use to the achievement in this convoluted way. I could see people gathering a few of these and saving them for one day when they roll a new alt perhaps (i.e. maybe they don't have a toon they need/care to level now or within those 5 weeks but perhaps they would in 2 or 3 months from now etc). These are good base ideas, but not the best execution IMO in regards to flexibility and respecting the players time, letting them play how and when they want to.
