10 min boss fights are an utter boredom, not to say annoying as well.
love watching dev interviews and god i can't watch this one, Max is just unable to ask simple and direct questions with the limited time he has and keeps on rambling and shoving in his own opinions. glad there is a tldr here i can read.
Long (>10 minute) fights always have one of two problems.Either the first 75% is trivial and it just becomes a 5+ minute snoozer to get to the actual heart of the encounter, which makes it feel boring and a chore (Jailer, although that entire fight sucked for many reasons beyond this),or, the hard part of the fight is the first part (ras) which means you often still wipe there will trying to learn the back half.Neither feel particularly good. Shorter boss fights always end up more streamlined and satisfying to progress.
What is that Zskarn lie? If the encounter died like intended, why did we get a cheese fix? The first kill did the cheese towards the end and thought of it as expected.I mean sure, they addressed the issue, but they can't say it died as intended but it also was a cheese with the safe spot. They can't have the cake and eat it, too.
''gearing too fast'' everyone agrees i guess? ''weakaura's in the raid are bad'' uuh yeah why make the singualar private aura in the entire raid on mythic neltharion an weakaura check then?''zskarn died as intended'' there is no way this bs narrative is being pushed out when guilds abused safespot strat even after RWF ended, the devs might've won me over if they added an bezerk on release but they basically said 4 tank 6 healer have fun, no shot thats intentional way that boss should die

As a casual, the quick gear was great. I got decent ilvl doing mid keys, so I felt more confident to try healing higher m+ keys. Whereas last season I didn’t get good gear for ages, because you had to do high keys to get decent vault gear.Rashok raid trink has been a nightmare. Sounds like they are nerfing the fast gear system (a lil maybe) in this interview.
Maybe it's just me but... I actually hate gearing up. Like, imho it's the worst part of the season When a new season starts your character's power is reset relative to the current content and you feel weak. There is nothing worse than feeling weak in an MMO. Getting gear isn't about feeling more powerful but just feeling playable. Once I am geared to where I am comfortable (normally full heroic to maybe low mythic) I stop and then I go to do what I want EG farming collectables.Gear is not an end objective for me and I wonder how many people gear for number go up. Personally gearing is just a chore that I do to enable the other things I like doing.
