I think the golden eyes are odd for blood elves. Someone correct me, but was the Sunwell an arcane mana source or what? I also always thought the eye change from Night elf to High elf was due to being awake during sun hours, rather than the Sunwell, because Night Elves have always lived close to arcane pools (well of eternity is a pool of magic, moonwells are arcane magic sources with Elune's blessing etc.)Blizz just bring back High Elves instead of Mary Sue void elves. The Void corrupts all, that's why Sargeras began fighting it so aggressively. Stop making the void thing happen.
Synea, I think you and I agree on a lot of things regarding lore in WoW and how unabashedly evil Blizzard has decided to make Sylvanas while pretending she's still "just doing what she thinks is right." and becoming Garrosh 2 but with Scourge powers. But, the Light isn't a monolithic force, so long as you believe you are doing the right thing, the Light will always answer you. It's why the Scarlet Crusade could still use Light even as they lost their minds, it's why when Uther tried to remove Tirion's Light powers, it failed, because Tirion was still just. It's why the Light still answered Arthas even after the Culling of Stratholme.Light in WoW represents good only by chance, its practice a sign of Order. Truth and belief, honest belief, in that what you are doing is right.Do you remember the cut content Blizzard said was supposed to explain why the blood elves were so lax to Garrosh in stealing the Divine Bell during MoP? Because apparently off-screen they were threatened. I have no doubts Sylvanas made a similar claim. As Uther would say to Arthas: "No one feels like they deserve it." The most important thing about the Light is it also represents Redemption.
y'all arguing if Liadrin (and the Blood Knights in general) should get golden eyes bc they are or are not traitors to the Light forgot that they don't even NEED to have faith in the Light to use it, they can just channel it directly from the Sunwell
Oh boy now the blood elves are just humans with pointy ears. Pretty much the red alliance now with paladin belves everywhere
CAN NONE OF Y'ALL BEHAVE?
Eh, not really feeling it. I like the gold eyes, but the armor.....No i'm not feeling it. Heck, she's a lore character, give her unique armor directly from the hearthstone card, I won't mind.
The Blood Elves eyes only turned green because of the fel tainting them. The Sunwell was cleansed by the core of a Naaru, infusing it with light, and now it is a balance between arcane & light. The Blood Elves are being cleansed/cured of the fel corruption because of the light in the Sunwell. The Light is not a discriminant force, and neither is the Void, and I think blizzard has been trying to explain that for a while now. People associate light exclusively with good, holy, righteous, just, and benevolence but it's not that simple. The Blood Elves are High Elves, they changed their name, nothing else about them changed except what the fel did, which is now cured. The High elves weren't part of the Alliance for a good while by the time they changed, and I think people have forgotten that. The High Elves & the Night Elves historically don't get along, the High Elves distrust the Alliance, so it wasn't even a stretch that the majority of surviving High Elves would make the leap over to the Horde. It does appear that Blizzard is bringing them closer to their roots as High Elves bit by bit, and yeah that probably means there will be no "High Elf" classification for a playable race for the alliance, because the Blood Elves are High Elves. Sometimes I wish they hadn't changed their name when they joined the Horde. If you want to play a High Elf, play a Blood Elf, they are one and the same. The High Elves were addicted to the arcane for many, many centuries before any of this ever happened, so there's no separation or difference there, either. It's part of why the Night Elves don't like them. Theoretically, because the elves who still identify themselves as "High Elves" and didn't join the horde draw their power from the Sunwell, their eyes would also change to gold eventually. and just for fun, look at Alleria's son's eyes, they're somewhere between green and blue.
The Light is a force, not an entity. It can be accessed like Chi, you just have to have a strong enough will, faith, and the ability to use it in defense (or offense as a form of defense) against those who would do harm to your friends and loved ones. Whether that’s a rampaging demon or an Alliance/Horde soldier. In “Blood and Honor”, the Silver Hand “stripped” Tirion of his powers for helping Eitrigg, but thats not how the Light works and later on he was able to still call upon it to resurrect Eitrigg. On another note, I like Liadrin’s new armor because it’s the red recolor of the Tomb of Sargeras set I’m still wearing on my dwarf! Still totally gonna fight her though!
