Looks like they're being delivered as they were told.Hadn't they even said as much last year? Like speed effects belonging to boots, etc?So let's say you get 3 different drops with 3 different effects that you like. You have to decide which one you want to build first and what slot you'll have it built for. It's a long endeavour, taking weeks, and you can only equip one legendary at a time (just like in Legion originally.)So how you customize your gear depends on what effect you want to use and which of the available slots -should- you use it on. Let's say I want earthquake on my earth elemental. I got the drop from Torghast, it looks good. I know I might not get another for a month (based on Legion)... Now I have to decide if I want it on my belt or my boots. My belt is my crappiest ilvl, but I know there is a great BiS belt I could farm. Whereas my boots might be a harder drop to upgrade, but are currently better than my waist.Do I try to min-max it and take whichever would have the better stats compared to BiS iterations?Or do I just upgrade the belt cause it gives best ilvl boost for the time being? What if I'm 2 weeks into making this thing and suddenly Torghast gives me the Ancestral Reminder upgrade. That might be a cooler effect... HMMMMMMM....Personally, I love it. Not -quite- as random as Legion legendaries, but that's not a bad thing. Artifact weapon, class order halls and legendaries were the best parts of that expansion. I prefer all this to the neck, cloak, azerite armor, essences and corruptions that we have now. I prefer it to classic's boring loot system as well.I don't want a static necklace that I never change, that I 'grow' for two years. Nor do I want to hunt down my best-in-slot necklace and be done with the game until next patch after 2 months cause I'm gear up. I want a middleground. I want cool stuff, powerful upgrades that make me feel good, and the option to get even shinier loot on down the line. That's why I like this system. But I can also see how pessimists will see that the grass is greener on the other side. If they don't get the statistical cookie-cutter undisputed 'best' legendary, then it feels like they've been robbed somehow.Me? I just like getting cool $%^&.
if i get an item upgrade and i wanna put the same legendary effect on i already put on the old item is it at least cheaper?
at the end of the day we are still writing entire articles about systems which blizzard has said basically 0 about and which are basically 0 percent implemented in the alpha build of the game
