I've tried layer 1 Twisting Corridors once so far, solo as a ~187 BM hunter.
My only grievance with twisting corridors is that if you don't get many max hp buffs early on you get bricked on layer 13-14 (which are over an hour into the run), I literally just had a run where I was offered obleron endurance twice (picked it both times) and then got mawrat spice on layer 13 (so I had 4 stacks when my run bricked because I simply didn't have enough health to survive a couple of elite hits, even while I had a lot of survival options, just not enough health for them to matter).
@carriebotIf you have the chance, take the Intimidation anima power. With full out dps and bloodlust I was able to kill any solo mob, even floor 18 boss, within the stun duration of Intimidation.
Many people fail Torghast because they just blindly pick Anima powers without thinking about possible synergies and make really stupid mistakes.Twisting Corridors, a completely optional thing mind you, isn't just like the normal runs, where you go in, rofl through and be done with it.It needs knowledge what to do and when to do it. Also what you never should do.For example, NEVER transform the Vendor to a Anima Cell. That is like the most common mistake of many runs. You have enough phantasma. Don't waste it on the Vendor. There are a few mobs that are really worth it transforming. Here are examples.- In the Soulforges, transform a enemy that can cast Fireballs. It will convert to a cell reducing fire damage taken from all sources by 65%, - In Mort'regar, transform a Ghost into a Cell. It will give you a cell that makes you absorb the void zones they make and you heal of it.- The Upper Reaches, transform a skeleton master/mage/whatever. The Anima Cell causes all Skeletons/Undead drop x10 Phantasma.
I understand that failing Twisting Corridors after 2+ hours can be very frustrating and frankly some classes/specs seem to have it easier than others. However, many points stated in the comments don't do the system justice:
Finished all 8 layers on my ILV 206 Vengence DH, first 7 layers were extremely easy and i failed layer 8 because of bad RNG on the last boss.i didnt get many hp powers and if the boss landed a hit in it would immediately kill me, on the first attempt i got him to 1% health but after that i would keep dying at around 50% hp. i had to reset but climbed back up the tower and eventually beat it.If you are a Demon Hunter you can reset the first power so you start with Grim Tinder and if you have the Growing Inferno conduit you will get to the point where you will be clearing floors with just single Immolation aura.
It's should be like this:ClassesWarrior*Fix the Issue of how come warrior is always at the bottom of the DPS list
I don't play hunter, but when I had Warden Skoldus on my layer 6 floor 18 run... I nearly lost it there. On my last life I decided to just run and kite him, and it worked out surprisingly well, since he still has to stop to cast. As long as I kept running the cast time of Rats! was enough for me to get out of his range.
Sweet Christmas, I had no idea the Ravenous Anima Cells turned into different powers depending on the enemy you use it on. Makes sense now that you think about it...
There should be a better option to get a ^&*!ing mount usable in the MAW. The stupid Hunt mount is terrible RNG and the Layer 8 of Twisting Corridors might as well strangle yourself with how terribly tuned it is to the point majority probably will never finish it until 2-3 patches later IF they don't change the scaling ( which they probably will )
The real solution to TC is to get the 90 second immunity power on floor 17 and then just auto attack the floor 18 boss until you win. It easy!
