I did not have sexual relationships with that woman!
We drained the power from the sword at the end of Legion and healed Azeroth's wounds during BfA. It's is no longer a threat and is now simply part of the landscape of the planet. Could another story happen later? Sure, but there don't appear to be any plans for the time being. Plus, it's in Silithus. That zone sucked and nobody ever went there anyway. If it's that bothersome you can always have Zidormi transport you to the old version of the zone and you don't have to see it anymore.
Nothing will ever convince me that they had a coherent plan for the overarching narrative, someone threw down concept art and said 'hey you know what would be cool, what if we set teldrassil on fire and stabbed the planet, ok now write an expansion around that'
When Azeroth herself awakens, she's gonna wield the sword.I mean, that sword doesn't remember you guys of a particular dungeon called Throne of the Tides? It's pretty much the same situation.
Ion for the love of WOW PLEASE go seek opportunities elsewhere! Like some other Studio. I'm sure there is one somewhere that NEEDs your unique talents and expertise.
I don't understand the fascination or the continued griping about the sword. The world blew up during g the sundering, leaving a massive whole in the middle of the world that is now a massive swirling vortex that leads into the elemental plane of Deepholme. And azeroth did just fine.... and people are worried about a stab wound? Come on, guys...
I thought this was all explained within the past 2 expansions, where has everyone been?
For all the effort that was put into Legion, for all the work we put into sacrificing the weapons that Legion was hyper focused on, that they are still wasting space in my inventory, with no way to delete/destroy/disenchant or in any other way, reclaim valuable bank space. And just as much with the sword of Sargaras... BfA kicked in, cycled through, and now we have another bag/bank space stolen by another outdated item. The Heart of Azeroth at least has use while on Azeroth. It item level may be lower than the current 9.2 content, but at least it has use. For those that went through Legion when it was current, know what happened with the weapons and why they are now defunct. For any new player that gets screwed into leveling up on the Broken Isles, you get quest after quest focused on obtaining the artifact weapons with absolutely no in game explanation as to why their brand new shiny artifact weapon is functionless crap that will now forever take up space in your inventory with no resolution of any kind. Ion nailed it when he acknowledged the issues with "Borrowed Power"... Ok so great, your gonna learn from those lessons and apply that knowledge to the new expansion(s), but what are you doing about the old content that is still broken? It doesn't matter how amazing the rest of the game is (and it is), people/players/customers/investors/influencers will remember the broken stuff & question whether they suggest the game to anyone that asks. What does any of this have to do with the "Splinter" in Silithus? Incomplete, unresolved content that is dragging out for too long from the players perspective, no matter what the behind the scenes storyline might be.
Splinters need to be pulled out lest they lead to infection....
All these "what sword" comments just shows how quick the community are to hop on the train of negativity like a bunch of sheep. It's so extremely unfunny and unoriginal. It makes me cringe to even say I play WoW, when I see how this community treat the employees at Blizzard.
I must be the only person, but I'd love a dungeon setting inside the sword , possibly going in to place bombs to demolish it from inside while fighting remnants of corruption , maybe some sort of memories or visions that would tell a bit more of sargeras story. Then again why would a sword have empty spaces ? Weeeell it's huge I don't know .
What sword?
What sword in Silithus? are they talking about something in AQ?
