I just don't get his logic surrounding player housing taking a lot of resources - doesn't WoW have one of the biggest MMO teams in the industry?
This sounds like the perfect expansion.
Housing have always been a waste of dev resources. As sooner people realize that, the better.
So we'd be losing a raid tier to gain an evergreen system. Personally, I think it's a good trade long-term. Raid tiers last what, less than 6 months at times, before the next one comes out. Player housing is something that can last years. So we lose something that people only do for a couple of months before the next one comes out VS something that will have players doing things for years with new item collections and new decorations for the house. So yeah, I'm all for that, let's do it.
Yay for Hazel! Such a sweetheart! Go squirrel squad!
Hazel coming in clutch with really great questions!
I don't know about this expansion – somehow everything i see/read/hear of it just screams "budget", when this seemed like a long overdue opportunity to make a major investment into the future of the franchise.Even their promotional footage looks rather low-poly/dated/stale this time. Reading these interview answers about long-requested features they won't be able to cover -again- in favor of just getting the bare minimum content thrown together makes me wonder how none of the announced 'new' features really wow-ed me.Don't get me wrong, I'm actually rather excited about the UI revamp, for example, but they took monthly fees for game maintenance for 18 years now and suddenly want to sell a concentrated effort on that subject as a major add-on feature now?
Renown solved nothing it just added a time gate and made alts a pain.
Thank you wowhead for these transcripts. I really dislike watching videos in general, but this Hazelnutty youtuber in particular has a super annoying voice, to me.
"Player housing is a massive project that would likely take multiple expansions to realize at the level players demand and deserve."Well now see, if they simply took the feedback from Garrisons and did even a little work each xpac rather than just robotically saying 'we hear you, and will do better', they might have had something to show for that by now, rather than making up excuses like always.
I think Garissons were really cool and I would love to be able to build one somewhere on Azeroth - maybe with only few features (e.g. the inn, auction etc.). I would love to get the new features there every expac and not only in one. I hope, someday I will :)
