Maybe would have been a little more helpful to provide links to dropboxes, githubs, etc. where all the Shadowlands-versions of popular addons like WA's and Details! can be found...
I am very thankful for these instructions. I did get lost on step 3 though because my addon manager doesn't have that button :( (hint - it was "Check Updates" instead). (/s in case it's needed, but I did find the post very amusing!)
Cursebreaker isn't listed because you have to type "update" rather than press an update button
wait so hit update or update all ? This is so confusing.
Stuck on step 4.
Yes, /reload has been around since Vanilla, but until today, the game would not see new addons / new addon files that were added since you launched the game. So /reload was great for reloading the addons you already had, but useless for picking up the ones you just added. Now you no longer have to quit the game and restart to use them.
Well, Twitch still works... for now. So the link to the best addon managers will be useful in a month's time.
Twitch doesn't show my addons anymore. What should I use now? Overwolf maybe?
oh so thats what the update all buttons does!
Funny how this article had 3-4 pages of comments and now it only has 2... my comment along with others was deleted by mods, you know an article is bad when a mod has to erase pages of comments stating how useless an article is
Funny, so I've written that this article is Condescending and some mod just removed it. Great. Well, this article is Condescending and it's a fact. And if your feelings are hurt than it's your problem.
cursebreaker is amazing
I remember the first years we just checked and updated every addon manually, sure we had only few addons. Im using about 50-60 addons, depending on toon/profession, not even that much in my peak times i had 120+ addons; some of them are cosmetic to enhance the UI, most are addons to improve data input for my eyes. Im lazy and use the twitch application to update too, as i use that app anyway to access the pile of shame prime games on twitch.
Well, Twitch stopped hosting the addons as of now. And Ajour/WowUp seems to be having a hard time getting to all the addons. It scans are incomplete from finding 30 addons out of 73 to none. Is Overwolf already started blocking API as soon as they took over?
I spose we all look for something todo whilst in the que to login, writers write somewhat silly articles and we write clever comments..^^
