I've barely gotten any progress at all for the last few weeks.
I have been running at least four bountiful delves each week on 3 to 4 characters. I am going to be able to complete the season journey this week, as I am extremely close to finishing it.I have my three main characters are around 605-610 ilvl. As someone who does not want to raid or do m+, its great! Esp getting the vaults each week. They take little time, you can do them whenever you want to over the week, and for someone that doesn't raid or do m+, it is easily the best source of gear.A lot of people hating on these are either doing much harder content, which delves aren't made for those people, or people that have most likely a class that makes running delves solo frustrating. If you have a friend, or ever make a pf group, get a tank and delves become VASTLY easier. Like night and day easier.
As usual by the time you get far enough in to buy the rewards your main and all your alts are in champ gear at 606 and the 580 garbage vendor gear is completely useless. Why does Blizzard do this? This gear should be made available at for low cost right from the start as soon as you clear an Equivalent Tier level which is like 4 or 5.
I just did a level 4 Bountiful Delve, used a key and cleared the entire instance including the one pack of enhanced mobs and got 157 delve progress, so less than a third what was suggested here for a tier 4. I got 100 from the Bountiful Chest (not 250 as mentioned in the article) for using a key. So 100 for the key, 50 for completion and 7 more for the enhanced mob group (I opened the chest without autoloot so I could see the reward)I was at 2237 prior to doing it and 2394 after. (Using the command listed in the article before and after)
Their data seems to jive with my last two weeks of recording Delver's Journey points. 187 points are there for any Bountiful Delve you do whether you have a restored coffer key to open an end chest or the Delver's Bounty map to gain another extra chest or you are lucky enough to get the Hulking Raptorial Claw. The other figures (50 @ T4 to 150 @ T8) I have also found correct by doing T4 to T8 delves to figure this all out. Thanks for this post, it is helpful. To all the soloist's, these rewards we get are decent, but since we choose not to group up, it is the best we can hope for. I agree that delves are grindy in their time, and unfortunately are indeed harder being a clothie as I have to be careful not to take on too many trash mobs to draw in more than one elite at a time. I'm iLv 606 and my best time was 30 minutes doing the Waterworks on a full clear, most of the time I am up in the 50-55 minute range per delve, generally waiting on cooldowns to reset before taking on more elites. I have found that Brann, in healer spec, is not always helpful, both the T-rex and monkey adds he summons sometimes do nothing! Really weird AI on them. I have also experienced a few bugs in progress but they seem to have been fixed since the 27th of September now. This progress is too slow, I am not playing any alts in TWW other than using them for professions to support my main. I cannot justify the time required to grind several alts enough to do this sort of thing. Blizzard needs to understand that not everyone has that kind of time to play 23/24 hours a day. (yeah, its an exaggeration, but you get the drift)
Delves are solid for someone who plays multiple alts, but if you focus all of your time on one character they start losing their appeal. If you play Heroic or higher content it doesn't take long before Delves just become a thing you have to grind to cap out 616ilvl options for your Vault, but beyond that they don't have much else for the person only playing one character. If you play alts you can use them to gear up with 603 pieces quickly, earn some 616 pieces overtime, get through the season journey faster, and you always have the chance for Warbound gear drops for your alts. It offers a lot for alts but I can understand why people who only play their main would lose interest in them quickly. I think at the very least they will buff XP gain at some point.
My favorite part of the Season Journey is how the Xp gain was locked at level 3 for the first week of the Delve Season, when people were doing the most delves. Did 50+ Bountiful Delves that first week and my bar didn't move for at least 30-40% of them.
Always entertaining seeing how unintelligent the average wowhead commenter is
What about delves higher than 8? running 11s atm but they are time consuming, wondering if there is any point.
What addon is being used to show the Delver's Journey current level progress on boss kill in the screenshot in this guide?
