So, essentially it's a rip off from other classes. Did blizz learn NOTHING from frost mages? NOONE likes the ice veins uptime playstyle.Plan on seeing tons of tank/support/shadow priest builds out there.
I can only repeat that this spec will be a nightmare to balance. You didn't even touch on M+. How is this going to work ?Let's say the evoker buffs the other 2 DPS, what happens if one of them dies? You tie your own DPS to some other guy not dying? This will be super toxic. To make anyone play this clown fiesta of an idea, it must be super OP. This spec will be so niche I actually can't believe Blizzard wastes time with this. How about a 3rd Demon Hunter spec first? DH plays basically the same for 7 years now and Havoc is so dependent on tuning. A 2nd DPS spec, maybe even ranged, would be much appreciated.
That's exaclty what I immediately thought: you wil have specs that benefit more from Aug Evokers than others and the tuning could become harder than it already is. Time will tell.
this is a perfect niche spec for me or all support lover , you all have a lot of others spec to enjoy if u dont like this one. I hope bliz dont listen for once and stick with the support role.
First things first: those complaining about its solo capabilities, it is obviously not designed as a solo spec. Full Stop. That said, I can already see its 40% DPS being vastly boosted (30-50%) in the first week of Live, because we have seen the history of Blizz's balancing on PTR. This leads to further balancing issues, because if they increase the DPS, then they will reduce the buffs and back to a standard DPS spec. I wonder how the players are chosen for automatic buffs. If the top DPSers are chosen in a raid, then it creates exponential returns for some specs, while choosing the lowest creates a toxic environment by lowering the Evokers effective DPS and boosting players that are not playing at the fullest. In a dungeon this is less of an effect, but then you run into the issues of being OP in M+/weak in Raid or OP in Raid/weak in M+.
Make it healer. They could keep the same chassis and just replace the Eruption and Upheaval cycle with passives that buff Emerald Blossom and a Black empower spell that gives strong absorb shields. You'd still maintain Ebon Might in the same way only by taking a healer spot, many of the balance issues with the spec itself would be removed and all you'd have is a) the spec likely being good at M+ but only with a very specific combo b) the spec making raid leader's lives hell. b) will happen anyway. And beyond PI this just destroys the concept of ranking for dps which while problematic, is still the only real metagame raiders have on farm other than boosting.
From a m+ pov either the spec is better to bring than not in that case there's a good chance we just play the same 5specs everywhere. Now this can be a pb i get that altho I dont rly mind playing anything.BUT if the meta is locked, groups will take much longer to form wich is boring. And also if you're playing an alrdy not top of the pack spec but now slots are much less flex then gl with pugging i guess :xOr maybe the spec is just too poop to have an impact, i dont rly see a realistic in between considering how that affect all the nightmare that tunning is alrdy.
to the people being concerned about solo performance: you can change specs anytime for no cost
They could have just added the black flight abilities to the devastated envoker and the bronze abilities to the preservation spec.. simple easy use what you already have stop putting stuff on top of other stuff.. there overcompensating again."like in the movie Armageddon"When he states captain American here blew pass the landing by 20 miles.. completey missed the mark"Devs are trying to be captain American
Devs add additional content like what we already have - "Blizzard are out of ideas, just keep doing the same thing, gg Blizz games dead"Devs add something completely different - "wtf, why do this, just make another of the thing we had before"Never change WoW community.
