Could not care less about what dracthyr sets look like since they can't even wear them.
To bad they will not get to use it. In the current state, the evoker is a wet sheet of paper in a Storm.
Given how Evoker is currently tuned, it'll be curious to see what percentage of players actually obtain any of these sets. For those who aren't aware: the class is by far the squishiest class in the game, is one of the least mobile classes in the game, has the shortest range of any caster in the game, and hits like a wet noodle compared to every other DPS in the game. There's countless feedback on the WoW forums about this, regular discussions about such on the beta servers...and Blizz is ignoring that feedback and doing nothing (instead doing things like nerfing Paladin with this latest passthrough).Personal prediction is that I might be the only person in the game willing to stick it out for a patch cycle on that class.
lol it's really quite tragic how bad the Dracthyr look in this. It's like when your friend asks you about the homework you forgot about as you walk into class so you scribble anything on the paper as a last ditch attempt. Like they literally have dragonkin in the world who can wear hoods and other armour sets and it looks perfectly fine, but for some reason, after I'd imagine several years of iterations and planning, this is what they give us, it feels like a spit in the face. Just don't bother if you're not going to try. Maybe it's a good thing fan requests for Ogre/sethrak and Jynu fall on deaf ears because I can only imagine the disappointment The set itself looks fantastic, pity blizz can't be bothered to accommodate gear for different designs *cough Worgen/Tauren heads*
What almost every comment here is ignoring is that the Dracthyr model is designed with the intention of using the armour visual options. Wowhead just put this gear on a Dracthyr without any of that for visual clarity. Having said that, I will say that I'm a little disappointed the Evoker class sets aren't showing up fully in Dracthyr form. It'd be cool for some Evoker-only gear to show up with unique visuals as a dragon. I think the set looks pretty cool all the same in visage; and I'm going to approach transmog the same way I do with mechagnomes. That is, working with the race's unique customisation to complete a look rather than finding it restrictive.
Why are recolors always SO similar? Stop playing around the blue tint and go extra, be original, add another color that is unusual and make it pop! And I'm not even talking about how disappointing those are on a Dracthyr...There are soooooooo many possible colors that exist yet EVERY recolor of EVERY set is always blue / teal / light blue / a bit green but still blue / blue but darker! / purple but blue-ish / etc. Sadly, this set feels boring, doesn't look great and is not interesting which is a big waste considering it's the only class/race combo, you could've given a little extra on the dragon form since it's Evoker tier set.
Its sad that only Shoulders and Waist is visible in dragon form, would have looked sick if the dragon form could have any other piece of armor visible....
Dear Blizzard,Please, just scrap the whole tier armor idea. There’s way to many new features that players and your devs need to focus on. It makes no sense to force tier into season 1 for one simple reason, class tuning. Classes need to be tuned to be semi equal without having to deal with secondary tuning on tier armor. Gather data from classes with the least amount of borrowed powers so you know how classes will perform and scale moving forward. That said, the tier sets looked rushed, they’re boring, and they lack creativity. Just stop while you’re ahead! For the first time in years, I’m excited about a WoW expansion. Don’t blow it by forcing stuff into season 1 like tier. Outside of that, keep up the amazing work!Sincerely,Hulk
I honestly think the lightning effects are so cool. That might be at the cost of everything else because these are just so underwhelming. And it probably wouldn't be so bad, if NPCs didn't look better.Oh, by the way, good luck on getting these sets. While I don't have the luck of a beta key, I can at least read comments. I still want to see wait for the pre-patch, even if I don't have the highest hopes for PvE.
Dragon form was a mistake. They should have just kept them visage form only (scales, horns, eyes etc) but let us choose from a wider variety of races.
Why do they have a tier set if you can't even see it? Like I understand old armors not working on them, but if you're making armor specifically for them, why don't they make it based off the dragon form
I kind of expected that the evoker tier set to have an unique look for their dragonforms, but oh well, not that I care that much, I'm only interested in their tier set cause its mail and hopefully most of its sets are going to have a non-class specific lookalike.
Selfishly, I hope this convinces more people not to play Evoker. :pI've only played melee primarily, but on beta I'm actually having a blast with it. We'll be more popular than DKs and Pallies durign WotLK, but I don't care. I love the story, the gameplay and the aesthetics.
idk how i feel about this but im not playing an evoker for sure, i was hyped for the class/race but it just feels wrong in so many ways so far.racials are designed poorly.armors look ridiculus on drac'thyr form and cant even see your wielding weapons.spell range could cause so many problems with the unique playstyle, atleast for devastation.being locked into blood elf / human looking race once again is lazy af
Is it just me or do I get the sense that Dracthyr got totally screwed over as they can't even wear the entire set or at least most of the gear in their dragon form? What a waste.
This probably would not look so terrible if Wowhead had used a model with some armor on it for the dragon. Only shoulders and belt are visible from your equipped gear but there are a handful of armor options available that you choose as part of character creation. With different styles and colors. That said, I do agree that with evokes also being race locked, they really could have taken the time to better adapt evoked specific gear to the dragon model.Still more than druids get though I guess?
Those shoulders are Dragon Soul Warrior tier LOL
