While the tuning seems fine the gameplay feels pretty tame to me. Maelstrom overflow is a huge pain. Being forced into spamming Stormstrike due to SB with 100 Maelstrom feels terrible. I love that SS is the powerful spell it should be, but being locked into pressing it over anything else even when we’re capped or need to refresh a buff doesn’t feel good and contributes to an unhealthy playstyle. I hate Searing Assault. It’s boring and non-interactive. Just another buff we’re forced to maintain that contributes to the spec being very boring. The duration is way too short. Flametongue doesn’t come back online for another 6 seconds after SA has fallen off. And with SB procs were once again locked into using SS before we can refresh it. The damage is great but I hate the talent, same issue with Hailstorm during EN/ToV (although Frostbrand lasted much longer). It feels so bad to use especially when you can’t refresh it, even if you want to. I’d like to see increased duration lasting close to or as long as Flametongue with less damage over time to compensate for the length. The loss of Doom Winds sucks. I would’ve really liked to see it baked into our spec as our main damage cooldown, especially since Ascendance has been a talent since Legion. Our only damage cooldown is our wolves and are very lackluster without Elemental Spirits talented. I enjoyed Doom Wolves as it made our wolves feel much stronger/impactful, along with Alpha Wolf increasing our AoE output. ES is cool and I don’t mind “rolling the dogs”, I just wish it didn’t have to compete with Ascendance or Spike. Things I’d like to see are :-Make Feral Lunge baseline-Bake crashing storm into Crash Lightning-Rework of Searing Assault-Return of a pure damage cooldown-Maelstrom cap increased and/or Stormbringer reducing SS cost to 50% as the post states
I disagree. It feels a little worst but its not that bad.
What I liked about Legion is how it made Enhancement and Elemental simply melee / ranged versions of each other. Windfury is the Enhancement version of Elemental Overload, Stormbringer the equivalent to Lava Surge. The biggest difference, however, is that Enhancement does a lot of small hits whereas Elemental builds up to unleash a powerful Earth Shock.I would love it if our Maelstrom spenders were bigger hitters and cost more Maelstrom. Maelstrom droughts (and random surges) were awful in Legion, so I'd rather be consistently overflowing with Maelstrom and not be dependent on strings of Stormbringer procs to deal meaningful damage.Overcharge could be boosted to 60-75 Maelstrom and hit for 1600% again.Fury of Air could drain more Maelstrom and deal more damage the longer you have it enabled, making it distinct from Crash Lightning which would remain as our bursty AOE + cleave buff.Lava Lash can be the filler / dump ability it typically has been and I think 40 Maelstrom is a good place to signify this.
Is Maelstrom overflow really that important of an issue? As far as I can tell, the main issue is that making preventing your resource from capping not matter actually lowers the skill cap of Enhancement considerably, making it harder to differentiate oneself from weaker players. I mean, yes, it does restrict talent choice in theory, but they usually manage to do that themselves anyway. Some specializations change whether or not they are GCD locked expansion to expansion, raid to raid. Arms is a good example of this - a spec that usually starts out with free GCDs but quickly becomes GCD locked as the expansion goes on.I guess a good argument is that Enhancement has very rarely been a GCD locked specialization historically, and that starting off an expansion in a state where you're GCD locked with considerable abilities potentially queued up for use next is just going to get worse and worse over the course of the expansion, but I still feel like this is mainly a theoretical design issue right now that doesn't translate into gameplay as long as they tune Enhancement around being Maelstrom capped.P.S. You forgot to mention two of the nicer changes for Enhancement in that Tremor Totem was readded and Capacitor Totem is baseline.
Shamans are not viable for anything right now at least IMO. i mean no one wants them in mythic+ and even in legion they were a little lackluster enhance was getting left out people would take a diff class every time over enhance shaman I mean there no reason to bring an enhance shaman in over another class if ya get what i am trying to say IMO .they need fix that horrible rng :p ha (new talents) that are viable (help with a good rotation cause it feels clunky now), we need more tools to stay alive because shaman is squishy as crap might as well put them in cloth because the so called mail they have is worse than cloth. They are supposed to be like a battle mage which my understanding was to be able to really battle and take punishment to an extent.but battle mages are so cool.and enhance is well it is not cool at all well at least right now damage fluctuates all the time shaman has been needing help for a while now more so now than ever before! Anyway sorry so sloppy i rushed this and honestly just wanted to get it out there. My apologies!hope you all have a good evening :)
yeah they are in really bad shape
