Note that the dungeon quests cannot be done on M+. Atleast not before the recent patch
typo in the headline
I have this from the first week thanks
Bob walrus :p
I don't know why I cannot see the NPC to even do this quest. I have pretty much completed all quests available in the area and even hit 25/25/30/30 renown with everything. So maybe a bug? I'll try Warmode next to see if he appears.
Worth noting that this questline is full of art history references, at least in my interpretation:Hudson- Possibly named for the Husdon River School, a mid-19th century movement focused on painting American landscapes reflecting the themes of that century, such as exploration and discovery (which fits in perfectly with DF!) - A lot of their paintings will remind you of the Ohn'aran Plains, and a bit of the border with Waking Shores.7 paintings (And one unfinished)- Possibly a reference to the Group of Seven (and Thom Thomson) - again painters of the 20th century, renowned for their wilderness landscapes, this time focused on the Canadian north. The unfinished painting may represent Thom Thomson - the "8th" artist who heavily influenced the group, and many surmise would have been part of the group if he did not pass away before its formation. He is often still credited when speaking about their history. A lot of their paintings will remind you of the Azure Span (Thomson's especially) - this is why Azure Span is my favorite zone in DF. It is a literal work of art.I certainly don't have some official statement saying this, but if you check out some of the paintings from these groups I think the influence is plain to see - thus I feel this quest about a disgruntled landscape painter, is paying homage in this way. Or maybe i'm just a nerd :P
At least Azure Vault has another quest attached. Otherwise, this is probably a nice questline.
I really enjoyed this quest line but I was somewhat disappointed in the toy reward at the end.I would much rather have the more traditional-looking easel that Hudson uses.I think it is a more attractive and appealing model than the one we receive.
This toy can be used to great lengths to get places. On the fun side, it will walk you off of cliffs to your death if you choose to have a funny means of killing your character. As it locks you out of most actions for the duration of the toy's animation, you will be uncontrollable. The only ability I've used that breaks it is Disengage. At least early on, you can't just use an attack to break the effect, though I haven't tried in a while. Maybe that changed, I dunno. On the other, more devious side, it can move you behind some walls if you clip corners. I found several holes in Dragonflight terrain and reported them, though this was in the third week of the expansion and it's still not fixed lol. If you ever see someone behind the counter in the bank at Valdrakken, the easel is what they used. I won't say where to use it though.
RemovedThis questline was really enjoyable for me. Glad it got its own article!
After seeing quests that ask you to do pretty much every dungeon I was expecting more than a toy but ok I guess.
I'm glad it doesn't want you to go to Nokhud dungeon. I hate it.
Got it over a month ago. Just beware, you can't do the quests in M+. Can be completed in normals.
Welp, time to go work on this questline I didn't know about! Gonna be that one orc who paints unicorns, ya know...
Would be super nice if the pre requisites were listed literally anywhere. I looked up the npc, nothing, the quest, zilch, even the toy, nada. I have read some people say you need xxx renown, but then commentors who have 0 renown and were able to do the quest came into the comments to bring down that theory. Then some people said you had to be level 65 to get it, but then level 70s came in and said, "Nah, I'm 70 and it's not here." and level 62s came in and were able to see it. There's literally 0 information on what we need to do to actually see the quest. Glad I wasted a dragon ride here to find out no one knows...
They can be done in m+ since the most recent patch.
