Wish they would buff +health as well so less nerfs are needed to one-shot mechanics, but otherwise this is a good start
This mechanic was first used, exactly like this with scaling damage and healing increase, in Icecrown Citadel. And I feel like I'm taking crazy pills because people are treating this as a new idea when it was already done, done well, and really well received. And they just never did it again. And people keep comparing this to things like Uldir (including the designers themselves) instead of ICC. None of this is to say that this is a bad idea. Like I said, it was fantastic in ICC, and it'll be fantastic now. But does no one remember ICC? We JUST finished out Wrath Classic. ICC is widely regarded as one of the best raids of all time. And people are just forgetting it existed, or at least forgetting it had this mechanic somehow?
I like the idea of continued play enabling you to get stronger week after week in an MMO, and this constant progression enabling you to conquer greater and greater challenges as the patch/season goes on. But would prefer something that felt more organic as opposed to an instance specific stacking buff. As in, I wish the totality of my character's strength was growing in this way rather than "just when you are in this instance you are buffed X%". It's always been weird to feel strong inside an instance, due to a weekly stacking buff on you or a stacking debuff on enemies, to then exit the instance and do other content while feeling a lot weaker comparatively. I get that it's implied the quest system is somehow linked to the buff/stack (requiring player action as opposed to past examples that felt like it nerfed things without the need for any player action at all) , but I worry that this quest related thing is going to fall into the same bucket and feel really disconnected from the player actually going out, playing, collecting gear/power, and coming back to the challenge stronger in a weeks time. I don't want it to be a Kill X bosses = collect set weekly power increase checklist activity, but that's what I imagine it being atm. idk It could be a really enjoyable activity to do and that could change my opinion. In the context of raiding; I prefer when it feels like the continuous collecting of power has made my character stronger and thus enables me to more easily clear Bosses I've already conquered and also gives me the feeling that Bosses I'm currently stuck on are now closer to dying than the previous week. I just find it really awkward when this increase in power only applies to the raids. I play other parts of the game besides raiding, and feeling artificially stronger in one area and knowingly weaker in another has never made for a very satisfying overall experience for me.
Zone-specified borrowed power is fun, and I'd love to see it in the open world, too
Hey look, the raid got a raid buff before Ele/Resto shamans!
Gonna list my raid and name it "Note size of your buff"
Good idea, helps players who are lest invested to clear the raid by the end of the season. Also, Billy Idol playable race confirmed!
I feel like this should be a thing only in mythic, anything lower is already easily clearable by pretty much anyone and gear is actually what nerfs content there unlike in mythic.
It's crazy how easy they're making this game.
That 3% buff better be stacking every (other) week after some time have passed in the content to like 30%...
