Obviously, this system doesn't make the game fun. It won't provide much fun compared to the current system. Now wow needs a fundamental change.Aside from that, Blizzard's turning team is severely degraded, so I'm very worried when I see a system with many of these choices.
I think there will be some interesting talent combinations from passives coming from different systems (Conduit, Azerite, Artifact). I suppose it depends on which passives they choose from those different systems, as many are quite lackluster compared to others.
Can’t wait! Never liked the mop talent tree. I miss my last days on cata with old version.
When you level up currently, you gain class and spec abilities. They are revamping the talent tree. So instead of being level 20 and getting X you now have 10 talent points, 5 in each tree, and X is an option. However so is Y and Z. You could dabble and pick two of them or even all three (on rows that allow that. Some are designed for 'Pick one of these options and leave the other'). An interrupt would be interchangable with a stun on a longer CD or a movement ability, but it would never be interchangable with damage. So this isn't a list of 90 new tricks we get. IT's all of our current tricks, mixed up with other specs, mixed up with some conduit bonuses mixed up with some tier set bonuses mixed up with some covenant abilities mixed up with new abilities from Dragonflight. And when 11.0 comes out, you'll keep your new Dragonflight abilities and be able to use Light Wars abilities. But maybe some of your previous choices are effected by the new ones, so you respec them. This is a major boon to the health of the game. It's combining all the systems into a remix of Classic and Modern WoW and allowing us to take them with us through the expansions.
Literally LMAO right now… First off, I don’t see any path on this “new” tree that will allow for the true customization abilities of the original one… in the pre MOP tree, I could basically put my points anywhere and still be competitive and viable. In the current version and in this “new” one, it is still going to have to be “go to (icy veins/wowhead), copy the meta build and follow it.” Hopefully 18-24 months from now when we actually see this live it’s completely reworked and actually truly customizable. Also FFS people this expansion is at least 18 months out of not WAY more, worrying about how Blizz is gonna break the game with a preview is kinda pointless. Most of these new systems will see hundreds if not thousands of edits before we ever even see them in alpha/beta… Thirdly it would be nice to see covenant abilities carry over into the new xpac. Just because my toon isn’t in shadowlands doesn’t mean I’m no longer loyal to my covenant, just as my Sylvanas loyalty hasn’t changed since she burned the tree. Blizz loves overcomplicating the game with system on top of system on top of system on top of borrowed power, why not just add in another layer of flavor? Again it would lead to a more truly customizable play experience. Hopefully whenever this actually goes live, it will have been worth the wait.
I would of love for them to go even further and make it like POE type of tree. Remove class specs and merge it with the talent tree. So depending on how you start your build you can pick up class spells. While the passive talents would be what they're showing us right now. Given you would start with some basic skills/spells when you choose your class. After that you then choose the passive talents you want and skills/spells you would like for the build.
I am REALLY happy they don't seen to go with the "Your critical chance is increased by 1/2/3/4/5%" Those talents are old, outdated and boring. If they add the stuff they had in conduits and azerite bonuses... man.. I am EXCITED.This talent tree is already looking better and better. It really seems like all the systems merged into one.

These talents will have to be pretty well balanced to avoid the cookie cutter builds of the past (or current) talent systems.Like bloodtalons for example.
Oh, look! We are bringing back something we stopped using at Cataclism and painting it as new!
"Build diversity" lmao. These guys clearly don't understand the playerbase. If there's even 1% performance difference in talents the better one will be picked, there will be no diversity of builds. There will be tier lists and the masses will flock and blindly pick the best combos, even if they don't understand why.
