I'm going to have to read his interview another time since it seems as though he skirted around the issue of class balance. I get a spec doing too much damage and not wanting that to carry over to the live game. As I said before, it makes no sense to make mobs targetable by everyone only for somebody to crit it and run off with the loot. Here's the thing: I don't think that was the case for everyone since even playing DPS didn't guarantee good damage. Of course, I can't forget the healers since Holy Priests now do even less damage. While I can't know what the devs were thinking, I wonder if they realize nobody plays healers for insane amounts of damage. That said, I actually want to like having multiple options when it comes to talents. I just think 3 points for one talent is a stretch when we only get a limited amount. I also really hope it's not like earlier this year when ArenaNet buffed the skills and weapons that nobody was using. And then a lot of changes were only for PvP or WvW (World vs. World). While I can't speak for the fanbase for several reasons, I don't think those people are the majority.
It's a lot of verbiage but the proof's in the pudding. I'll have to wait and see.
Some of the promises we have heard multiple times already. Those look good on paper, but often were not delivered.I'll just wait before getting the expansion. Some of their decisions sting for a long time. (such as them intentionally ignoring how many guilds used the exploit where frost mages had permanent 100% multistrike; many of such guilds even had their logs posted publicly, yet apparently World of Logs is an unreliable site. GM told me that the players were punished, but I know they were not - one of the raiders was talking about it months after it happened, and laughed that there was 0 punishment)
"Doing the thing that person A requests could make the game worse for person B and vice versa because they play the game in different ways and want to experience the game in different ways. Mistakes happen, but they come from a place of positive and earnest good intent."Agreed. But when the overwhelming majority of Mages posting on the Beta forum are all telling the Mage Dev the same thing (ie Moving Greater Invis into general talents but not cauterize or Cold Snap is a bad idea) and that Dev not only ignores the feedback but does not interact with community on the forums for the entire Beta cycle, then something IS wrong at the Dev end.
PALADIN RET DEV IS 404
If Zereth Mortis came AFTER the realignment to the WoW pillars of value then we're screwed...
