I knew there was a teleportation room. But I still couldn't figure out the size of the maze and the room. I finished it in the end but I just couldn't create a good map...
ANAGRAM!
I actually enjoyed this one. When I did the maze, I started a fresh map after each orb, and after I figured out the looping room it was a lot easier.
That maze drove me crazy with attemptions in drawing it. I remember tons of paper with useless schemes and hours of wandering in random direction. I think this idea was given by drunk Tzeench with terrible headache. All other parts of this quest were not so hard, especially comparing with the maze.
None of this explains why my endless halls map changed though. I made a post in the entry for the halls about how one of my rooms holding a respawned rune had changed exits, while a previously safe room turned into a warp room. I didn't do anything that would cause the maze to change, like DC for a while or leave the maze and come back a few days later. The maze actively changed shape around me, while I was in it. What the hell. (Still did it twice, EU and NA servers :V)
Incredible puzzling by the devs, amazing work by the global WoW community. No problem, it seems, is too big when enough people work together on it.
WOW! this totally blew my mind :D when i´ll return playing, i´ll surely have to do this . Opinion 15 from 10
This puzzle, in spite of knowing that the endless halls would be so difficult, is what finally drew me back into the game after several months.
As crazy as the Endless Halls maze was, I found it really fun to do - guess I must have had an easy one cause I got it done in around 40 mins! I actually enjoyed the growing insanity as it seemed as though I was walking round in circles; although, probs would have got fed up after a few hours haha. I did use the addon, which helped, but it was in its rough, early stages so still somewhat a case of random walking around.Overall though - as sad as it sounds - I think it was one of the best things I've participated in. I'm just gutted that I only joined at Gnomeregan. All the teamwork, all the memes and the hype as people managed to find a clue and made progress on a puzzle created an incredible atmosphere and I'm so grateful to have been a part of it. Huge thanks for all the fun, Secret Finding Discord and Blizzard!
Ugh... even with the map addon I kept getting lost. It took me almost 8 hours to finish the damn maze, but I did it and have the mount. I got so bored once that I literally fell sleep in the middle of the afternoon while trying to solve the maze. I tried a combo of using the addon, drawing my own map, to aimlessly wandering. I guess I was just one of the unlucky people to get stuck with hard random mazes.
