Was this changed tested in the PTR?
Blows my mind how Blizzard can introduce a change like this with no ingame toggle.I've used default bars for decades but their constant fiddling this expansion has forced me to use a replacement addon instead. They never deliver on their stated aim to have customizability since half the things they change have no toggle to turn off / use the old design - some of it like the raid frames have even LESS customization than the pre-DF default, and I certainly don't want whatever UI their current designer is trying to railroad me towards.
For those who use the addon ClassicUI, millanzarreta pushed an update yesterday. Not only does it fix the things that the patch broke, they also added options (disabled by default) as to whether you want to enable the new 10.1.5 UI animations or not.I am supremely grateful for it, as not only were the changes distracting and obfuscating abilities/spells with multiple charges... it was also headache-inducing for those like myself who are more sensitive to frequent/fast flashes. Just what the heck was the person in charge thinking with these changes?
I thought everything looked shinier! TBH I kinda like the animation they did for when your character is “resting”. It’s cute for some weird reason.
I am used to this from swtor's UI except theirs goes on the y axis instead. Its pretty useful when plotting your rotation for up to about a minute ahead. I plan to disable certain elements of bartender in favor of this because in some ways its easier to glance at the action bar and see that instead of numbers. Also sometimes weak auras is distracting. To each their own I guess? Eye muscle memory is a killer though. If you arent used to this it is jarring!
Oh thank God
this is too ironic from the game where people expect you to have dbm and other screen-covering addons
I never noticed it, maybe because I use bartender4?
There's also an addon for those who prefer that over using a weakaura.https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/hideactionbaranimations
