If you are talking "equivalent", it should be equivalent to BfA level 110, i.e. one expansion before cap...!
Let's be real, this really shouldn't affect legit players leveling up too much. Even the examples of killing elites, you can do a /1 or just ignore the quest, among other options. And you can hunt for achievements at level 50. Whatever.
perhaps it's a matter of creating 2 queues... if you're level 50 to 60, you only see the max level queue. If you're below level 50, you only see the low level queue. There have been so many times I've needed help on an elite quest while leveling that the group finder saved my butt. I get they're trying to nix spamming, but I don't believe this is the way to do it.
why do people care about boosters? with 10 level 120s I dont care personally but Im curious why people care if someone helps someone else level?
I actually kinda like it. I've been playing Classic, and you have to use words for basically anything. I actually like seeing chatter in the world, folks trying to group up and figuring out how to kill some NPC.

Now people will go back to using Trade chat, just like in the old days ... It is a good change, after all :)

At the risk of sounding like a corporate shill, I'd say they're actually overly dumped on these days.
I've never used the custom group finder except for world boss quests. I have been able to complete all "Low Level Elite Quests." They can be tough but are mostly doable. If there is an issue, then you can usually get a couple people to help out with a text in the general channel. With the level squish, I don't think these will be as important to complete. Only necessary if you want the Lorewalker achievements. However, since I don't use the custom group finder much I am indifferent to the change.
So instead of hiring guys to silence/ban advertisers, they screw the entire playerbase over. And on top of that, guess who's gonna start advertising more in trade/general chat? This change does nothing
Funny how alot of people here forget that premade group finder since a hotfix in bfa hid groups that aren’t near yours. As an example open up the group finder now as a fresh allied race and you won’t see m+ groups, even if they don’t use ilvl filter. Set it up yourself with someone you know (not your friend) creating a group either high or low level and you try to see it as the vice versa level point.This is too heavy-handed.Turns out it wasn’t a hotfix but rather a patch. I have looked up a few of those characters that do the advertisements and they are 100 to 110ish level range (maybe 120). Not level 1 or 20s selling stuff.Patch 8.1.0 (2018-12-11): Dungeons from prior expansions will no longer appear when searching for Dungeon groups in the Premade Group Finder. For example, level 120 players will no longer see groups listed for Lower Blackrock Spire.
Then bring back the group finder for said group quests.
