What a nice change, AWESOME!
Makes sense
This is really, really stupid. If every expansion is going to feature "borrowed power", we should get to use it everywhere during that expansion. Reconsider this, Blizzard.
This is lame.
Well that's not very fun at all...
Lmfao how bad can it get before it launches hahahaThe war3 reforged feel is stronger every day
Furthermore, what even happens for classes where the covenant ability changes an existing spell ? Say for Death's due for example removed
Makes sense, but I'd prefer if they rework essences/Azerite armour to let us keep the speed boosts and power boosts when we're in older content without needing another set of armour.
That's an unfortunate change given how much player power is tied to those. I imagine soulbinds won't be active either. With corruption gone that's going to make soloing BFA content potentially pretty rough

This just seems.... Pointless. I really hope this is just them testing a switch to turn on when we're done in the Shadowlands. I understand at the end of Shadowlands that we should somehow lose these powers, but what's the point of making the expansion about an identity that just left at door as soon as you step outside? If nothing else, it'll be frustrating that our characters will work one way in one place, and another elsewhere.
this is ridiculous, please be an temporary issue, i can't imagine soloing old content without new perks sold as the big change in the expansion
I LOVE BEING LIMITED ON WHAT IM DOING! why would I want to use the current expansions borrowed power anywhere else? That's gets WAY too close to feeling like it's an impactful choice or God forbid what we're doing in the game actually matters elsewhere. :(
Arena's and BG's are NOT in the Shadowlands and Covenant abilities should NOT be working there. Completely ridiculous and immersion breaking.
Just further proof that Blizzard is struggling to balance temporary systems because they refuse to keep it simple.Remember when they said reforging was too complicated? lol
You won't need this stuff for previous expansions due to the fact that you will be overleveled anyway... And it would take away from dev time to try and fix every broken interaction that new systems have with old content (e.g. Venthyr Door of Shadows making you port somewhere you shouldn't be able to). There are various problems with borrowed power, but in terms how long it would take to balance all content, it's just not worth it - it would be stupid not to do this tbh.
At least you'll still have the Azerite Essences for old world content. Still, this does seem like an odd decision.
