That this article doesn't mention you get cloth from mining is a pretty big unforced error.
Well some of my alts are going tailoring then to supply my main tailor with mats.
You know, I was wondering just this morning how Blizzard would change professions to make them even more miserable and more expensive for players so that those of us with full time jobs would need to buy more game tokens. And here's wowhead with the answer!
Speaking from the perspective OF a tailor, I disagree this is a good thing for the profession. The cost of materials are going to go WAY up, and it's not a gathering profession, it's a crafting profession. Now when I go to, ya know, craft my items, buying the cloth to make stuff is going to cost me an arm and a leg. I do not want to farm materials. That's why I'm a tailor and not an herbalist or miner. Though, that said, this isn't gonna stop farmers from farming cloth. They're just going to pick up tailoring, THEN farm the cloth the same as they usually do, and charge you 10 times more for it. Bots still get most of the profits, you have to pay more for your mats.
Great change.
Massive L. Guess I can't mess with my tailoring alt this expansion.
My first reaction to this was 'Okay, who's doing coke at blizz today?" but the more I think about it, it actually does make sense. I would however like to roll in skinning into LW, and mining into BS/Engi/JC, herbalism into scribe/alch. It just makes sense if this is the direction they're going.Another thing that I'd really like to see is to do a warband squish with cooking, fishing and archeology. Cooking and Fishing are kinda no brainers. No reason to have them seperate, and as far as arch goes, since they've killed it, might as well smash all of the fragments together on one warband account and call it a day.
Yes I can craft that epic back piece for you, just strole over to the AH and pick of 18 237g a piece cloths for me.
Ugh and its adding quality to cloth? Dang this sucks.
Boo! Big L in my book
This seems fun lets gooo big W
Honestly, I'm surprised they still have gathering professions. I thought by now they'd just roll them into a baseline "gathering" skill with cloth, leather, ore, and herb branches you can spec into to supply your crafting professions. Like a talent tree but for gathering.
